Just got back from a rally at Woodstock near Hokitika, first big ride on CBR1000RR and is my ring sore, will have to check out a pad or two while over there, bands played till 3am, not much sleep, got a hole in rear tyre, plug kit saved the day, got me back to rally but was leaking so asked one of the organizers if he knew of anyone with a tyre. He said I got some in my bedroom so he goes and gets it and the tyre change man there for the burnouts fitted it . He wouldnt take any thing for the near new Metzler Rennsport and the tyre change man only wanted a can of beer for fitting it . I will be sending those guys some surprizes in the mail. The West Coast is still as nice as ever. Drew is having a ball aye, Cheers Toddy
Thanks, Barb. I'll try to sketch/trace surface template and email to you. Sorry, I probably wasn't clear about the thinsulate pad. Seemed like I remember Greg Minor or Gerg talk about the solo sheepskin buttpad they ordered from you, and that there was a pocket for an airhawk pad under the sheepskin. The 950 seat is a bit too narrow across the top (ala dirt bike style) for me. I currently wrap a thinsulate pad that is about 2" wider than the seat top in a towel, and as it folds over the seat edges, it effectively makes the seat a bit wider and more supportive. I use a pad that is the the length of the seat so my passenger has additional support also. So I thought if your buttpad had a "sleeve" under the sheepskin, then I'd be able to insert the thinsulate to bolster up the seat, while I also enjoy the comfort of the sheepskin. Hope that helps, but it may be more than what you normally manufacture, or it may be overkill, not sure. Oh, and thanks for the reply.
you just got another order. I got a mean case of "monkey butt" on my last 400 mile a day trip. On day 3 of that trip I was not enjoying myself. This will make a big difference!
I've got two of Barb's Alaska Butt pads. One on the V-Strom and one on the Wee Strom. I recommend them highly and just because it is from Barb. Yes, she is a babe i.e. a wonderful person and great to do business with and attractive too. Now if that makes your buttpad more comfy, cool. JDP
They just kinda lay there and look forlorn and act like a sponge. Looks fine until you sit down, then squish, squish. I put quick releases on each side for easy removal. If you get caught in the rain, they are usually small enough to not catch much. If you go into a restaurant and it's raining, take it in with to sit on. If it does get wet, shake the hell out of it, blot with a towel and you are good to go. Hang overnight if you can. Sometimes they smell like a wet dog but it shouldn't be too offensive-if it is, I need to know because that's a tanning problem. Don't put in on if going out in a torrential downpour. Barb
Get a medium, it'll fit on both (although not as good on the Adventure). Put a note to add an extra strap. Barb
Barb has even shipped them to Australia!! Both my neighbour and I have them on our GS's. A great product. Barb, I love your round the world pictures. MCJ
