I don't believe I've ever seen a "beak bag" before. Interesting concept.

    Thanks,

And I just installed my "Beemer Buddies" heated grip compatible overgrips. I'm hoping this will help thicken the too-thin GS bars.

    Hey HeadinSouth, looks familiar!

We also went here later in the day:

It's just a short spur off Indian Arm River Rd. but it's very rocky in sections and fun. They're also the very jagged, chunky and sharp! Great for testing skid plates! Lot's of chiming of the skid plate:lol3 This is just an easy bit where you can stop to take a pic.

    See you out there!

What else do you do when you're at a campsite and the fire is getting low.
You run around with your LED lighting and take photos making fellow camper think you are praying to the ADv gods for a safe and fun ride.

Today my 2nd all-road drive ever.

Standing and steering is still very difficult.
When steering to the left, you should balance to the right.
But then my weight is on the right peg and it's difficult to steer to the left...

During the drive, I came close to an old playground in the forrest, so I went to play a bit...

With my default F800 tires, I went into the sand and up a hill.
But the GS stalled (sorry, my bad).

I started the GS uphill and tried to drive, 5000rpm in 1st gear, but not a lot of movement.

this is what my GS had done.

Looks like fun. Get some crash bars and a real skidplate, throw on some knobbies and let the real fun begin!

Looks like fun - where in Holland was this? I'm going for a family reunion in May and this looks like a perfect side trip!

    Thanks,

The snow is nearly all melted now so I snuck out and hit the mountains. Found some new logging roads that were pretty gnarly. They put larger sharp rocks on the steeper sections for traction. Kind of have to have a lot of momentum to make it up. And I finally found the fabled "deck in the middle of nowhere". Have no idea why someone would build such an amazing deck in the middle on nowhere up an old logging road but I won't complain. The view is amazing.
