All seriousness aside...Wow...what a novel!!:deal There was a thick, twisting plot, full of suspense, with great characters, danger, excitement, drugs, alcohol, lawsuits, motorcycles, desert, coyotes, snowboarding, cliffs, threats of death, broken bones...WOW! Lacking in female interaction, but...still a good read.

I've only been out a couple times with you guys, but i love to read and review all the rr's and take in the locations, comments and advice.
And after all this...I have to say thanks and give up a :beercheers to the leaders who put these things together. It's people like Joel and NMBMN, who have a moral compass, respect for the environment, keep us all honest and on the trail and act out with selfless responsibility for the rest of the group that makes this crew so unique and awesome!:clap Keep it up and don't give up...

I hope the collective reads these last few pages and takes it all in...personal responsibility is the key!
Everyone needs to realize that while they're riding and having a blast and looking at the mountains, sand, turtles, beer, rocks and snakes that the leaders have the weight of the group on their shoulders.

Anyway...when the snow melts and i come out of my cave...and i put my skiis away...I'd love to come out and join you all again. So FUN!:lol3

Be safe and to all those on the DL, get well.
    B

    i narrowed it down to the cdi...a $229 fix...:cry

anyone knows who has an 02 640? the part numbers differ from year to year. from 2000 to 2002 they look identical but different part numbers on the last 3 or 4 digits. the 2003 and on have a plug in terminal unlike the one i have and older models have pigtails.

That harness is known for breaking wires down the backbone where it's covered with black plastic insulation.

    thanks russ.

last night, i checked continuity end to end of the wiring harness and they are good.

    ignition coil primary √
    ignition coil secondary √
    ignition coil ground √
    kill switch √
    kill switch to batt √
    pulse generator √

tonight, i will crank the bike and see if there's a voltage reading coming out of the cdi to the ignition coil. i believe roundstock already did this while we were on the trail, but will check again.

Erskine-Hellrigel's Community Hiking Club organized 53 trash cleanups last year, hauling off sofas, sinks, toilets, a fire pit and a martial arts dummy. Members have been hacking at a car that went over the side, pulling it out piece by piece.

53 trash cleanups in 2008, that means they did it an average of once a week....i think there is some exageration about that! never saw any of them at all the times i was up there....

i didn't see anything on this story that mentioned motorcycles.:huh

i agree with the author that SCD does need constant clean up, just as the side of highways, camping areas, any public areas, etc.

sucks that ppl can't just clean up after themselves.

i haven't read the bill in question, but i don't feel we need to worry.

i will do some homework on what the bill says...
