Hernandez is on an ART, Laverty will be riding an Aprilia engine in a British-built frame, designed by an ex-KR guy.

    That could be mildly interesting.

Roberts bikes worked pretty well, so it will be interesting to see how they go. I know many knock it and I get the reasoning why, but I hope to see the gap drop more and their be a battle between the slower prototype guys and the CRT guys every weekend. I also wish they scored them amongst themselves. I know that Espargo and DePuniet pretty much had their own little battle. But with only a small handful of points available a crash or DNF was not that devastating towards the championship.
Before BSB changed the rules I like the concept of the superbikes and the evo class racing together.

Curious if you were a fast Moto2 guy, someone who could stay in the lead pack and then maybe fade and finish 6-10th consistently and maybe squeak a podium here and there would you stay in Moto2 or go to a CRT bike given all things money-wise being equal?
I think I would stay Moto2 and see if I could find some more speed to somehow get a satellite prototype at some point.

Speaking of which, do they offer any real discounts at any point between now and the first race next year? I don't really care about the off-season coverage, as my work schedule is crazy enough through the winter to keep me occupied, but if I'm going to end up spending just as much when the season kicks off, I might manage to watch an archived race or two before then...

I would have thought all the front end hardwear would be the same, but there are subtle differences between Casey and George's bikes. I like the wieght saving on the rim, and would imagine the crap wear on the tyre was caused by his reduced pace, just bringing it home for the championship. (?)

That is an interesting question. I think maybe because in the public eye, CRT has only three accomplished racers, it hasn't enjoyed the traction it might. I think that will change soon. Good Moto2 riders will migrate to CRT if they can get paid or see it as a superior stepping stone. Of course, Marky Marq didn't help the CRT cause. :D

Thanks for the link. I enjoyed it, but the author was not really reporting, but rather shaping his opinions for our consumption. No matter. Ben could stop racing right now, and he is one of our legends. He's going to race some more. He'll have more success I think.

I hope so. He's not only a good boy, but, as is blindingly obvious, a bloody fast one! Go son! (and personally, I think this move will improve him, in a number of ways. When the going gets tough.....etc + we'll see if the dead wood hangs around)

Maybe I am behind the times, but had not seen this before.

A couple of days ago the FIM presented its Personality of the Year award, to ...

    ...

    ...

ahem, umm, well, you see ...

    :hide

    ... it was Jorge Lorenzo.

    :eek1

Haven't seen this on Kropotkin's site. Did I miss something, or has he missed the news event of the off-season?

    :1drink

Don't believe me? crash.net has the scoop.

Yeah I know, it is all about how many bothered to vote.

    On a more relevant note:

    That is a fabulous picture.

Given what we know about those tyres, and how hard they are to get working.

Can we wrap up the debate about how deliberately the top guys slide the front????? :lol3

Lorenzo, FIM personality of the year award? :dood Ummm... what am I missing here?

Edit: I'd love to see Spies crank it up again and have some success. But, it seems like a long shot now with his move. Who knows, maybe Ducati will pull a rabbit out of the hat next year?

Exit polls indicate only Lorenzo's entourage bothered to vote.

Clearly the "Personality" of the year should be Colin Edwards every year:clap

Either Colin Edwards has been awarded Hall of Fame status and is no longer eligible or CE2 is in another category because they don't rank the pros with the amateurs.
