:scratch it out-sold the 916/996/998 and increased Ducatis market share. The 1098 blew it out of the water but everyone was cashing in on their house equity. It may look a sales flop in comparison to the 1098 but wasn't a failure compared to previous Duc Superbikes.

    Personally, I'd love to own a 999R

The base 1098 was significantly cheaper MSRP (for the first year) and had a big bump in HP over the base 999. Add in less controversial styling and no wonder it sold well. As Ducatis growth over the last four years has shown, Ducati's customers don't buy because of access to cheap/easy credit.

Nicky should go to BMW. It's a big improvement over the Italian flagged Audi turnip truck. It did wonders for Melandri's post Ducati career.
I can see it now, Nicky in red, white and blue on the podium.

Last night I had dream that while others were racing in Laguna, me and Lorenzo were playing MotoGP video game on PS3, as he is healing with his collarbone. We were on a race in Laguna Seca when Jorge made a dick move on me entering Corkscrew. I did :nono and punched him on the shoulder which broke his collarbone again and he couldn't race until Phillip Island. Lost the championship too.

    Woke up laughing:lol3

Not surprising. Can't stand the thought of the other two fast Spaniards being there extending their lead on him (Dani is gonna try as well). I hope both stay out of harms way this time. It's just that when these guys put their helmets on, and lights go out, second place is first loser. Especially if it's that rookie Spaniard they lose out to.

Very interesting reading. Silly season is getting good. I doubt we will see Hayden on that Gresini Honda, but I sure would love to see it happen. That coming from a Bautista supporter. :D

"Young, fresh faces needed" Well l there are no upcoming Western Hemisphere riders on that track that I can see. So get rid of the most popular Merrikan in the GP and risk losing some of that audience/consumer? Makes no sense to me. Hayden would easily run at the top on the right bike.

I agree with my correction. :lol3

There is plenty of time for WSBK. And he can always resume his relationship and legacy with Ducati. But finishing way down field on a steaming pile of a bike isn't much of a legacy. Shame on Ducati.

I think the best laps Hayden has put in on a Ducati were on the Ducati flat tracker at Indy a few years ago.
