    Ok, I get it now

    You're looking at fx18

Dunno why they bothered to get snell on that but not on the DS

I would hedge a guess that Snell has different specs for off road intended helmets vs a DS helmet targeted for the road

We looked at Chico, eventually moved to Bend. Have a friend there, Don Flaner. It's a great town. Cool park. Brewery rocks. HOT though....

If you want Snell, you should get Snell. It is more structured, at least. It does not guarantee quality, but usually means higher price points, which give mfgs more room breathing room (cost-wise) to focus on it.

But if you have not already, you should read this:

How do the 37's and 39's fit? Arai's and Scorpian's fitt myhead perfectly, do these fit like Arai's?

Also, I was on your site looking at helmets and some of the 18's dont say they are SNELL in the verbage and some do say they are SNELL. Is that just a typo?

    Hi Bob

Fit on the AFX 37 and 39 can be hit or miss I find.

Aside from the standard feel of a $120 helmet, if there is a complaint, the most common on the 37 has been pressure on the forehead. Again, either hit or miss. Say 20% put the helmet on and immediately talk about forehead pressure. The remainder like the helmet, like the price and are instantly satisfied with all the money they didn't spend on the other models, possibly thinking of all the dinners out they'll have with their honey on the boulevard on saturday nights.

Yes, Bob. The 39 can be returned for either refund/ exchange.

The 37, being a close-out, can be returned, for store credit/ exchange.

14 day return period, from the time of receipt.

    Thanks,

    Joe

This is Motostrano Joe's question, I want to be respectful and not hijack it. But I do have something that may help you gentlemen. I tried the FX18 a while back (at a Parts Showcase) and it had a greatly improved fit. I compared it to the FX37 directly, and did not notice the forehead pressure that (37) had. The AFX rep was emphatic that this issue was going to be cured on the FX-39, and that it woudl fit similar to the FX18 I tried. I feel he was accurate and sincere.

Everything I have heard indicates that the FX-39 will be a better fitting helmet. I do not feel you will have issues with it.

Not to be repetitive but Im just trying to get a good handle on the fit of the FX-18 or the 39. The prices are super great and Joe's policy sounds great too. Im just not one for wanting to return stuff like this. I like trying my gear on to be sure.

and i'm sure one of us will be posting some stuff up here once the thing is on the shelf.

we just took delivery of the new AGV AX8 DUAL helmet, incidentally.
