Those Ducs are cool little bikes. I'm sure he meant 100 mpg but it would'nt matter because someone wouldn't buy those for everyday use. I would be surprised if they did 50mph....He's had them on display in his house for years? My wife bitches at me for having my bikes in the basement for the winter. Maybe because they sit near the water heater and drip a tiny bit of gas at times?:eek1............:lol3

That makes me feel better that my wife isn't the only one who bitches about a motorcycle in the basement!

    Basement???

I just moved the V50 Monza into the living room. It is the first of my bikes that my wife actually wants to ride herself, so I think I'm okay. :D

For some odd reason she thinks that motorcycles belong out in the garage in the winter! Can you believe that? I suppose I could insulate the walls, install a gas heater, install better lighting, throw out all the kids toys, and then I could work on it in the garage during the winter!

I am guessing she would then see the logic by keeping it in the basement :deal

Hey Old Goat, I know where you could store those and then the wife would be happy.

My wife let me turn the kids old play room in the basement into a bike work shop. Over the years their have been engines rebuilt on the dinnig room table, cases cooking in her oven, too many bikes in the garage for her to get her car in, etc. And to top it off, when I retired, she let me buy a building and open a motorcycle shop!!! SO after 40yrs, I think I'll keep her.:deal

So I am new to the whole road or adventure thing having ridden MX XC race bikes all my life, and I am all over the place as for my first adv bike... Triumph 800, 1100, KTM Adventurer are top thoughts, and then I think something more off road like a customized DRZ etc... this V-Strom which has always gotten rave reviews as a sturdy machine might be the perfect intro bike to put in some road time in order to see what I really want... looking for some feedback on this thought process, and lets say this scoot can be had at $2k even, I am guessing its a very marketable machine come spring or mid-summer for the same money of $2k... am I off on any of this ?
