You've gone very quiet Mr S I've picked up this But I think Ill need a bit of practice on it before I ride it in anger. I almost looped it tonight riding up some stairs.
His skeleton is resting beside his trials bike in a lost valley in the Akatarewas that it is not even possible to walk into or out of. Where is the other cylinder on your new bike? Michael
Cool - engine looks the same as mine. Looks tidy for a mid? nineties bike Don't they feel strange the first time you ride one I hope the stairs concerned were outside not inside.... My oldest boy and I are riding the trials bikes most weekends so once you get comfortable come and join us for a ride. we ride in a few places that just about fit that description - some uterly awesome areas are burried in the back of the mungies if you are prepared to go off the beaten track a bit.. We call this area 'the lost valley' - its real name is Martins Flat. any more is just wastefull
that pretty much sums it up. Havent really taken the trials bikes anywhere yet that we havent allready been on the trail bikes the difference (fun bit) being how much your body position/movemnt influences what the bike does. And how easy it is to drag out of ruts and bog holes etc...
yup - exactly the ultimate mungatooks toy rode the wr last saturday - felt like a klr by comparison... Andy Macs video..
Have you seen the new KTM 350 Freeride in the flesh yet? TSS have one, there's not much to them. It's pretty much a trials bike with a seat, comes stock with trials tyres fitted. <iframe width="853" height="480" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/n2eUucG4gwU" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
I havent seen one but they seem quite heavy (99.5kg) for what they are. My sons ktm300 is only a couple of kg heavier. the fuel capacity of 7.5l would be nice - we have to carry gas in our backpacks when riding the trials bikes. I still think having a seat on this type of bike is a negative - reducing your ability to move around the bike and diminshing that 'mountain bike with a motor' feel. it seems like simply a small trail bike as opposed to the whole new ball game that a proper trials bike is. would still love to try one out though
They had them at a demo day down here - wish I coulda got there. Mrs NordieBro is in lust Halfway between trials and enduro, they say. Sounds like a similar concept to the GasGas Pampera. The 250 2T was a good learner and easy-riding bike, except for the battery-less system and kick-start. You couldn't tell you'd stalled it until it was too late, and beginners are never the best at kick-starting either.
I have no idea of the weight but it was lower and way narrower than any of the KTM trail bikes TSS had on the floor. How much extra gas do you carry?
I'll pop in to TSS next week for a perve we carry a couple of 600ml coke bottles each and may need to stretch that to 3 each on the longer rides. basically you get liitle less than an hours engine time per liter and we average 3-4 engine hours on a 6-8 hr ride. we spend a lot of time sitting on our arses and/or looking for ways around things and draging bikes up banks etc...
You looked at SpotWalla? http://spotwalla.com Seems to be better at displaying and storing tracks than the official site.
Looks like you're taking a similar route home to me, only 2 hours behind. I got back to Vegus at 6.20.
I took a little longer - got home at 9 thanks for a great day Bart - pity about the heat - and the fact that I was riding like my petticoat was caught in the chain I had a great ride home - apart from a suicidal goat
Bart got 90% of the way to the top and I got maybe 25% Most of this video is tof the first 'easy' part <iframe width="853" height="480" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/H9gVqWPVoFs?list=UUZcfR9lN8L59rWb5Xl_bSZw" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
