hey all, nice to be here...! I wish I could convert the bike to look x-country/challenge, that is more my style aesthetically speaking.. but here is my x-moto.
Hi. I'm new to the forum but, having joined many such fora in the past, I have dutifully searched to find the answer to my question before posting it. I figure this thread would be the best place to stash the answer, so can anyone please tell me the dimensions of the front floating axle (part number 36317696636), including the bore measurments for the XChallenge/XCountry? The corresponding ones for the XMoto, which I know are different, are 13.5mm and 19mm. Cheers. :huh
I have 2 of the Uni's and love them (nice to have a ready to go clean one). http://www.touratech-usa.com/Store/2076/PN-049-0132/Uni-Filter-FOAM-washable-for-G650X (FYI: make sure you take off the air box and put some greas around the rubber grommit on the throtel body, I even pulled the grommet and put sum around the top that seals agains the airbox [found a lot of dust in there as well].)
The Uni foam filter is the only foam one I know of. You may be able to find it other places than TT. I also use a sheet of Uni foam above it as a prefilter.
Xchallenge front spindle dimensions: large O/D 24.92mm large I/D 20.85mm sml O/D 19.95mm sml I/D 14.00mm Overall length 265mm length to shoulder (sml dia) 178mm Dia taken with good vernernia, length with cheap tape
More dust leaks! Thanks for the heads up. The bike is mostly apart waiting for suspension parts to be returned. I'm almost finished with DESERT SCORPION'S air box mod. I need to make the thumb screws, and find a spring to hold them in place. Thanks for the Touratech link. I'll get at least one, and seal the air box properly.
If it's for manufacturing one, I personally wouldn't make it smaller than 19,97 mm. 0,03 mm play at that diameter in a bearing is max imho
Hi I've got complete rear wheel with sprocket and brake disc etc. If some body interested I can send pictures just write me an e-mail on bronikowski.andrzej@gmail.com or private message.
does anyone know the exact length of the spacer in the centre of the rear wheel hub, between the two bearings? both my bearings failed - one catastrophically, destroying; the bush on the left side, the circlip, the dust seal, and taking a few mm (i think) off the spacer. i have spare bearings, and managed to get a similar dust seal, but i want to get a new spacer machined first thing monday - i'm in namibia (SW africa) and it will take up to 3 weeks to get a replacement otherwise... lastly does anyone know the size of the circlip? seems about 40mm but i don't have anything to measure it accurately enough and the remaining pieces aren't really big enough to get a match. thanks in advance. dave
Sh*t, just did all the wheel bearings for a friend an hour ago. Saw it too late Hope somebody else comes with the ansswers. Good luck For the circlip, just find yourself a circlip for the the same size as the appropriate seal. Circlips are normalised for internal hole diameters asfaik
Just wanted to give you guys I will be putting up some g650x parts for sale soon. I'm out in the Sf bay area and will have a set of g650x challenge fork, front wheel + disk brake, lower triple and front brakes. I wanted to let you guys know here since this is our area. PM me with any questions. Also I will need to get some photos up with my ktm front end on there
Tucker Rocky lists front wheel bearings for the G650X XChallenge from All Ballz, but nothing for the rear. Looking at the chart on page 1 they are the same. Correct? I want to change them both just to be safe.
Front and rear bearings are both 6004. Worth changing the seals if they are worn; not sure whether they are the same though. Cush hub bearings are different. Strangely, although I have replace both sets of wheel bearings several times I have never had an issue with the cush hub bearings in over 40k miles I've done it now.
