You're probably thinking of Espiritu Santo - near La Paz.

Also a must-see, but via boat. :evil

Also, more tacos at the Ensenada fish market.

The magic of Baja is further south :deal

Just got back yesterday. If you have the time and don't mind the miles, anything and everthing from Mulege south. Hauled back 11 motorcycles and gear from Cabo Pulmo. Stayed over night in La Paz, Loreto, Guerrero Negro, had Breakfeat in Catavina, stayed San Quintin an Ensenada, then drove home to the bay area. The Baja 1000 started today and will end on the 17th. Lot's of cars/people down there for that. Love that place. Good people and great food. Can wait for the next trip!

I agree, I think of San Quintin as being the border town - too bad it takes over half a day to get there. The high desert plateau about an hour past there is some of the most beautiful desert you'll find anywhere. Somehow, TJ and Ensenada seem about as Mexican as Taco Bell...

I know the San Felipe shrimp festival is this time of year, too.

Pretty hard to beat a bacon wrapped shrimp hot off the grill. :dg

How far down are you going EP? Head down at least as far as Bahia De Los Angeles and come back up through Bahia Gonzaga to San Filipe. (Stop by and see Coco, if he is still around, let the wife staple a pair of panties to the ceiling :deal)

I know of some really fantastic places to eat in TJ ( I know that sounds like an oxymoran, but it's true) PM me if you want that info.

we might try to make it all the way down to Cabo - depending how things go and how much time we want to spend.

The bike is all packed up! We are staying in San Climente for a few days then heading into the Ja of the Ba..... cant wait!

It is an island out of Ensenada, good for big surf, there is also a Todos Santos way down south near Cabo on the Pacific side, good for a lunch stop thats about all.

    Ohhhh. That thing. Right.

Espiritu Santo is still prettier than either Todos Santos.

I'd say hit Rosarito for the afternoon but not stay there. Head South to either (Los Rocas, Baja Beach Resort or La Fonda). Each are a quick ride from Rosarito and near Puerto Nuevo.

Lobsters are small right now in PN but go for the experience anyway. Just walk the street and let them argue prices. Just back and Ortegas was the cheapest and biggest which has NEVER been hte case. It's the nicest resturaunt in town.

La Bufadora is nice (a little overbuilt over the years but fun)

Wine country on HWY 3 is nice as well.

too late! we actually got two nights at the Rosarito Beach Hotel for $200 with a $200 voucher for services at the Spa.... pretty tough to pass that one up - especially from the 9th floor view of the ocean.

We had a great dinner then went horseback riding on the beach.... rough life today!

    I started a ride report here -

I have no idea when Im actually going to be able to get it going..... sooner or later.
