got to work tomorrow. sucks for me.

I have recently been enrolled to find a weekend getaway location....

Would like something within an hr or so of Statesville area.

Would prefer it to have a scenic view and possibly a waterfall...

Price is anything from minimum to $100k..

Lots of places for sale all around. Don't know about prices. Most places have a "view", more or less up here. The waterfall would be a bit harder to find, and would drive the price up.

Just "let up on the throttle" and I'm sure you'll find something nice.

Kerr Scott lake would be a nice place, if you like lakes. Water is safer to play on than dirt....usually.

You know your way around the hills better than most folks. Any spots that you like in particular?

Well, I personally like Trade/ Mountain city or Fries VA or Linville....

She however just wants it to be on "clearance".... And Remote! She has to deal with people all week and would like to truly Get Away on the weekends.



I was hoping that you would see this Glen. Keep an eye out for me. We need to get together and ride soon!

Trade, TN would make us almost neighbors.

The views in Linville would be pricey, but Pisgah is right there and the drive up from Statesville would be a breeze.

any chance the Foothills Rides and Dinners thing is still happening? i have not searched the entire thread, but I live in Wilkesboro, and may be able to do some rides on the weekends.

Haven't had the dinner get together this year but have been riding some.

rode a lot as a young man......but it's been 25 yrs and i am just getting back into it. been back on a cruiser for about 4 mths or so......put in about 3k miles in that time.

kept coming back to a dual sport, so when i found one i liked i bought it, now looking for some info on some dirt to get my confidence back around Boone, Wilkes and the surrounding areas.

at this point i am open to any suggestions. would love to ride with some others but don't want to slow anyone down either.

Lots of great dirt and scenic roads in the area. We are truly blessed to live in such a motorcycle friendly area.

My brother (kickstand72) and I live near the Wilkes/ Yadkin line. We ride quite often. I am healing from a shattered collarbone, so I am riding a bit slow myself now.

We will try and post in here when we ride again.

I appreciate any heads up you may have. I am still in the process of learning what kind of riding I want to do, the gear i need.

trying to put cash together to get some upgrades on the bike. gotta get some crash bars and a better skid plate before i go anywhere more than old dirt roads.
