dad's birthday was Friday & we'd planned to leave early ride long way to telico & around then take him to dinner somewhere Saturday night.

Well that work thing got in the way again. So after a half day at work, robin, the chrome slug & me went to dalohanga for a late lunch.

we weren't the only ones enjoying the prutty day.




while we were walking around I told robin lets go check out that karma gia

checking this out it was in the river for years & I guess nobody was sure what it was. all you could see was the stack sticking out of the water. Turns out it's an old diving bell they used to mine for gold under the river.

Long story, but they pulled it out and restored. Now it sets just off the square.



after walking around, eating fudge we slipped out of town the back way.

I think the bday boy had a good time




instead of staying up there we were heading home. After everyone left we went across the street to the sand bar, robin did some dancing and I smoked a cigar before the trip over the mountain.


A buddy I went to high school with walked up. We were bs ing admireing the view hanging out like guys do.

now someone explain to me. Driving down the road 70mph talking on the phone. I can spot deer on the side of the road. But sitting in a deer perfectly still, I barely see a deer step behind a bush 20 feet in front of me & then he s gone

I remember my dad and I pulling in for gas many times as a kid. the Dairy Queen was just around the corner.

After rain robin was getting off so I waited around long enough to eat supper with her before heading out.

In my travels I always try to take pictures of unusual & unique things.

Almost dark I stopped for the state sign, put on a jacket & realized they put those bushes there so a fellow would have a place to take a wiz.

Gas stop in franklin, beer stop in candler & I finally rolled into Kenny & pj's. They had it going on 70lb of boston butts all the fixin's, live band.
