Wife and I drove up there on Sun. I have never been to Lake Pillsbury before,. Nice campgrounds and lots of wild flowers. Best of all very few people. Bringing the KLX 250S and my new kayak for evening paddles. Leaving Thurs. morning.:clap

For a couple reasons, I have to bail out on this. So there is one camping/food spot open for anyone.

    Cheers

Not sure on bike selection. I found a track on strava that looks to be single track down from Hull Mountain. Its categorized as super D. I would go with the full suspension. But thats just me.

Just got back from food shopping with KLRocket and SanGJan.
We have plenty of food and goodies.

Bogeyman is picking up the beer and we have plenty of soda.
One thing we didn't get was bottled water. We're bringing up a
water cooler to dispense water. We have plenty of cups but it
might be a good idea to bring a reusable water bottle if you don't
    have a hydration pack.

Last couple of years half the water bottle we picked up after the rally
were partially full, just a big waste. So much for my bottle rant.

We also grabbed granola bars and fruit that you can take on the rides
    for a little energy.

And everybody please bring something to swim in. I know the water is cold
but it's going to be hot! There's going to be a relaxation station floating in
the lake you'll be able to swim to.

Only a couple days left everybody, get ready.

Yup. I plan on arriving Thursday afternoon (earlier if I can get on the road sooner). I shall be making efforts to keep the beer as cool as possible - but there's no avoiding the fact that those kegs are gonna get shaken up... For the early arrivals - I'd suggest a few bottles to hand before we tap the kegs.

Is there a consensus on the best route in (for trucks)?

Choices are either via Middle Creek, Penny Pines and Elk Mountain Rd (i.e. from the south side of the Eel River)...
OR... via Potter Valley and along the north side of the Eel River (also Elk Mountain Rd).

Last year, I took the Potter Valley route...

Hey all, just want to send my best wishes for a great weekend. I'll be thinking of you and wishing I was there.

Quick anecdote: Last weekend I had an opportunity to go mountain biking at the most popular MTB area in Israel (Ben Shemen Forest). While we were resting at the top of a hill, we were passed by two guys on dirt bikes - a KTM and a Husky (it's a multi-use area)! Made me think of your upcoming rally and how much fun you're going to have. Enjoy!

I go up there a lot out of Santa Rosa. Potter Valley route is always how I come/go. Best road conditions, shortest most direct route.

    Ravine,

    I don't think it'll quite take 2 1/2 hrs from Boggs. I'm thinking may 1:45. You might
also think of going straight up to Upper Lake and in on Elk Mountain Rd.

As long as your not pulling a long trailer.
