anybody want to leave a little later.

I have a friend in montrose i'm leading up to hidden springs in a truck then I'm continuing on to Lake Hughes on my own on basically the same route. But we aren't leaving until about 11 or 11:30 from angeles crest and foothill. I have to help my girl get her car into the shop before I leave. I am fairly new to this group riding thing so if anyone is interested in a late start let me know.

That works for me! I'm PMing you my cell #. Maybe we could shoot straight out to the Rock Inn and do the 2nd half of the ride.

Made it home just before 6pm. Sore and both legs are pretty much gone. Too worn out for anything.

It was a exhausting but fun. Beautiful day, and lots of scenic trails.

Thanks to Chris, Sito, Oni, John, Don, Marty, and Noel for making this ride very exciting and different. All the FFs are advanced riders and I'm the only noob, not good, have to work hard to keep up all the times.

I'll post more pics tomorrow, need to go to bed.

    Cheers to all.

Joel...thanks for putting the ride together. My buddy Noel had a good time and enjoyed meeting you all. I'm sure he will register soon. We slabbed it home as he was late to pick up his son.

Nice to ride with you guys...or I should say...nice to eat your dust. :lol3

Joel...you can't get away with calling yourself noob anymore. You may have more miles this year than any 3-4 of us combined. :deal :D

+1... and nice to finally meet some more of the "locals". Thanks for showing me some fun new trails, I'll definitely be hitting Sawmill again.

Marty and I got back to La Canada just about dark after having a spirited ride over SCD. :D

    Good ride all :beer

Good to hear that we have the Sunday rides for those who can't do Saturdays. One of these days we need to get the 2 rides together. Have you guys ever thought of getting an office jobs? :lol3

Turin, we're waiting for the suspension performance report. Any big difference between stock and now?

    Cheers.

It's a speedy group we had yesterday. The pace was a little faster than previous, there were not enough noobs to slow them down. Often I wondered if these FFs were trying to kill me.

These guys are hazardous to your health
    [IMG]

Before the ride, and as usual, the regulars give the new guys the typical bullshits. Dang Artboy I heard that same crap since November, and CrazyJohn, come up with something a little new and different :lol3
    [IMG]

More bikes showed up, but I knew they're in for a different ride! ADV riders never truck their bikes :lol3
    [IMG]

    Now were ready to roll
    [IMG]

Crazy John, one of the original riding buddies
    [IMG]

Noel found an appropriate parking space for his 600R

The cost of gas we paid yesterday
    [IMG]

I never mind paying taxes because I have to be on this highway to get to the trail head. Wide open, deserted, and a great place to appreciate your bikes
    [IMG]

Now were ready to talk about dirt
    [IMG]

Glad to see the X-Challenge back where it belongs. Oni was there on my first ride and it was on this same trail.

Sito, Oni, and Artboy - the other original riders
    [IMG]

Off we go into the canyons
    [IMG]

First break, they have to stop and wait since I have the map
    [IMG]

CrazyJohn likes to play while I'm enjoying my break
    [IMG]

I lead them where there are several water crossing, fishing for an accident!

No luck on the 1st one
    [IMG]

This rider looks silly with those boots up in the air, no luck on this one either
    [IMG]

    Marty survives
    [IMG]

    So is CrazyJohn
    [IMG]

Oni has his rabbit foot in his pocket, dang I love to see that BMW jacket get wet
    [IMG]

Another BMW jacket stayed dry, I guess no performance report today
    [IMG]

Took them to another fishing spot and still no luck
    [IMG]

Here's the last one to get away
    [IMG]

I have a feeling that the FFs don't need me anymore by the way where the bikes are pointed
    [IMG]

I noticed that there is a little dent on Oni's muffler, he must be quick in picking that up!

Could not keep up with this guy
    [IMG]

While I'm being chased by this rider
    [IMG]

It's ok Oni, we can't see the dent from here
    [IMG]

The way Artboy rides, I don't see any dust ???????

The trail on the far right is where we started
    [IMG]

The usual sight when I catch up with the FFs. Come on guys, please make me feel good by not taking off your helmets until I get there.

After taking a few minutes of head start, Wzl is already on my arse, then the rest of the guys. Anyway, I enjoyed that few minutes of no dust in my face moment
    [IMG]

    Lunch at Rock Inn.

Makes me wonder if those gas containers on Sito's bike are really meant as sliders
    [IMG]

Good to get there before the Chromes show up

Sito, Punk, and Wzl - these guys look normal people as long they're not on their bikes
    [IMG]

John is having a FUGAWI :scratch
    [IMG]

Lunch was good, the portions are huge! More than the most voracious ADV rider can eat.

 We're ready for the second half of the ride
    [IMG]

They stopped and waited thinking that I still know the way :lol3

When I got to the junction, here's what I saw. The FFs getting ancy!

Sito's bike too heavy to get some air :lol3

Marty this time, and he didn't like the sound when he landed
    [IMG]

    He floored those springs
    [IMG]

    Sito doing a little wheelie
    [IMG]

I finally able to pacify the kids
    [IMG]

The LA smog ruined my favorite shot, the view looking east
    [IMG]

The trails are wide but you can't afford to screw around otherwise we have to use a very long rope to get you out.

    Right on the ridge
    [IMG]

View of the west, not sure if it's Pyramid Lake or Piru
    [IMG]

You know you're on lower elevation once you see flowers

    The trail below is waiting
    [IMG]

The bottom and end of the dirt trail. The rest is 60 miles of twisty pavement
    [IMG]

I'm surprised none of these guys is even tired.

While Sito, Oni, and Noel took the freeway, the rest slabbed it out. Wzl and Punk didn't get enough that day so they did the SCD on the way home.

It was one long day, more than my body can take. My legs were gone before I could even get home. Thanks Punk for kickstarting my bike. My butt was so sore that I asked Artboy and CrazyJohn to take off so I can just cruise home.

Beautiful weather, good company, nice long trails, exciting blacktop twisties, and above all, convenient to get too. What else is missing?

That disturbingly loud metal clunk sound goes away..................................After you install heavier fork springs.:lol3
