In one of these: http://www.blackhawk.com/product/Ωmega-Elite-Modular-Drop-Leg-Medical-Pouch,124,111.htm I slide it forward so it is on the front of my thigh and sort of sits in my lap as I ride. Hangs from my belt, secured with one or two straps around my leg. It seemed to be the only place to carry something where I would be unlikely to land on it in a get off. It is discrete as well.
BMW adventure jacket has an exterior pocket at the lower back that worked great. The back armor was between the pocket and my body in the event of a get off. Don't do it anymore, since I now live in NJ.
I carry a small .357 J frame IWB using the small belt on my Klim Traverse pants. I carry IWB for work and off duty, so it works for now, but I can see where a good quality shoulder holster would work great. I've gone down in dirt and its never begin the way. Hip holsters may work, but I don't like to advertise that I'm carrying.
If it were the 80's/90's,you'd get away with it(alot of people used "fanny packs" back then....but today,NO).
I have the same bag. Have used it as a camera case at multiple school events and have never had anyone raise an eyebrow. The family & friends are so used to it that no one ever asks whats in it.
Well the"fag bag" is how I carry and have been since the 80s, didn't know it was a fashion show thing. I don't mind if folks think I am out of fashion (ain't that a sign of queer eye anyway?)...don't worry about folk knowing I am armed either. That's because LEOs and criminals are generally the only ones who will know what time it is. LEOs are not a problem (because I carry legal) and if the bad guy knows I am armed the odds of him deciding to cause problems is greatly reduced. It happens to be the best and most comfortable way to CCW on my moto (or anywhere else) and damn the fashion police anyway. Oh and I have crashed while wearing them to no ill effect. Pretty rare to belly flop though I did roll while carrying a Sig 220 and two spare clips in one.
Border guards won't let me bring bear spray across the border. But I can buy it when I get there. That's just wrong.
I usually wear a Supertuk while carrying a Glock 26. I tuck my t-shirt in and usually have a jacket on over the top of it. In Missouri, if you would have it showing, you will get nailed for flourishing. I've never had the t-shirt get pulled out while riding. If I am not using a holster, I will use a pocket holster with a S&W Bodyguard 380 and put it in the inside pocket of my riding jacket. I'm not worried about shooting from the bike, but after I dismount. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk 2
I've brought bear spray into Canada; I let them know I had it and they said bear spray was fine. You can't bring in mace or anti personel spray.
I'm thinking of getting one of these for a long trip in the northern woods, just in case of wildlife issues. Anyone have experience with these? http://www.opticsplanet.com/blackhawk-special-operations-holster-40xp00.html
Have you seen the Technaclip belt clip. No holster needed. Works well for DAO guns with a firm trigger, but not for light triggers, for obvious reasons.
Sure. You do have to be aware pulling up your pants or whatever, taking care not to grab the trigger. The trigger pull on the small Rugers is heavy (about 8 lbs), and about 1" before firing. To be extra safe, carry with the chamber empty. It only takes a second to pull the slide.
Not sure what kind of wildlife issues a pistol will solve, but be advised that in grizzly country in the lower 48 a gunshot is like a dinner bell to the bears, who expect to find a gut pile at the source. The only reason I carry a pistol is for human issues, and bear spray for bears. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
some of you are very caught up with something going wrong while carrying during a get off. there is a very good chance that your gun placement is the least of your problems... and i would rather my gun slide down the road than my hip bone.
