still searching for a campsite...not always that easy....there are also campsites where camping (with a tent) is forbidden...

after building up our base camp we made a short trip to the city...

in the morning of day 7... today we drive from Whitby to Edinburgh, Scotland we are coming

The weather on the coast was really stormy during the night, but our bike and the tent hold against the wind...





so much about the good english weather




so first eating something before we get into the rain...tasty...




haha... we could avoid the first cloud bank...

Finally we reached our first interim target.... Scotland!

there was a little bit of drizzle when we arrived in Edinburgh... first let's go to the city center and searching for the tourist information office...













found the tourist information office...




and also the campsite and it starts to rain again... the mood goes down..

Day 8 of our journey...

great weather is waiting for us in the morning!


In search of the next highlight we had to ask for the right way... amazing view...




and then we wanted to continue driving.... wanted -

turn the key....NOTHING... nothing at all.. Fuuuuck, and now? without any announcement... just like that...
so get off, take out tools, take off the bench... and look...
expected the badest... generator, battery...in the end it was only a fuse...no problem, I had one with me... 30 minutes time of journey lost and now we can travel further...

for our film recording we had to drive over the bridge three times

Just forund this...excellent and now wants me to ship my bike to England to ride......augh!.....lol. I have been to almost everywhere in England but to ride that would be even better.

first let's go to the next distillery Balmore to be exact... no wonder, that the queen has her summer residence next-door


after we tasted a little bit we went further ... but don't worry we didn't try much...


to the next stonecircle... it seems that there is one after each third corner




no campsites far and wide...grrr...


then we buy something to eat first... hunger...


note: Don't go shopping if you are hungry... Tadaaaa...


found a campsite in Stonehaven... they didn't have any space officially, but after some time of negotiation they found a little place for us...so first we need something to eat...

Excellent video! Looks like you both had a lot of fun! You will be glad you're still not in Scotland; it has been raining heavily non-stop for the last 4 days! I live in a town 20miles from Glasgow and you have explored more of Scotland than I have....

Sooo today the day has come I've been waitng for the whole time in England/Scotland.... unfortunately.... rain, rain and again rain.....

Today we wanted to go further to the north...past Loch Ness...

wake up and it drizzels...grrr...not great but all right...


first have breakfast and gather one's strength...tasty pancakes


in the wash house...at least it was warm there...check of the map is really important...





Tada and here we are....no photos of our journey today... why? because it was raining heavily the whole day... but we filmed instead
In Inverness we didn't want to go further and searched for a hotel already... but unfortunately everything was booked up....so we decided to drive to Loch Ness to search for the monster But the weather got on our nerves and there was also no place for the night....
The drama took its course...from one hotel to the next and always the sign "no vanacies"... after 50miles and countless hotels/b&b we were at the end of our tether...
But why were all the rooms booked up? Because of the oil companies...they book all the rooms/hotels for their workers, which are working there during the season...you have to know this...



in the end we were again on a campsite...with wet clothes, wet tent and without any food..

first discover the area a little bit...the rain stopped...at last!






thankfully the campsite owner had a few things in his mini-shop...
