Local CL, guy has had a BMW /6 ad going on 5 years now.

When it was first listed I emailed, no reply. Then I phoned,no reply.

He has trailered it to a couple swap meets over those years, price is absurd.

I presume if he lists it for long enough, the economy will catch up!

That's interesting. it doesn't work that way in the US. You mnight get $500 for an engine, a few hundred for frame and wheels, nickels and dimes for the rest.

Depends on the bike. I know a guy who makes more than beer money parting out KLRs. (You should not be surprised by that.)

Look at the bright side. If he's too lazy to get a title, you won't have to ask if the air filter has been cleaned in the last 10,000 miles. :deal

kbb doesn't set prices for motorcycles. A motorcycle is worth what someone is willing to pay for it. :deal

Don't like the asking price? Make a reasonable offer! The SELLER can then say YES or NO. If it is NO then your reasonable offer is NOT reasonable to the seller. Step up or move on. :1drink

Same here - total basket-case R90 in the back of my bud's m/c shop - been there at least 3 years, never ran, needs everything serviced ( brake masters seized, etc) - aside from being fairly complete, it's basically a corroded lump. Of course, it is a "CLASSIC" and he expects $ 4 k....

Looked at an old TS 185 a few weeks ago.
Not a bad bike, ran but needed TLC.

Tires worn out and dry rotted, some tears in the seat.
Typical old bike stuff, not a big deal.

Price? $1K Didn't really want to talk about taking any less than that.

I was thinking $250-350 would have been fair.

Here is an example, cool bike I think.
    But I don't think it's $4K worth of cool.

Wouldn't give $3K for it, not very useful for me.
Garage is full at the moment anyway.

I got a cherry 2007 KLR with 5K miles on it, and almost all necessary farkles like crash guards, new petcock and air filter, plus luggage for 2400 bucks. I see great entry level bikes like ' 08GS 500's for $1300 asking price and I got a KLR Tengai which was a heap but more or less has everything for $175 bucks...

Just don't buy the bikes that aren't good deals... :deal

Hell, three or four thousand dollars and that will be good as new.
I mean it ran when parked, and that chain probably still has 19K miles left in it.

If you ever get the links unfroze. :lol3

Perfect canidate for a fly and push.....er haul.

Around here it's bobber projects and the typical ad goes something like this:

This will inevitably be followed by flip phone cell pics of boxes of parts and the heartbreaking image of a perfectly good motorcycle frame hacked to bits.

    O yeah, BTW...$4,000.
