What gear/tools are needed to replace the rear shock spring on the this bike? There seem to be many different spring tools, but I am clueless.

I just replaced the front springs with Hyperpro Progressives and new Oil. that was easy and very effective! Now my new rear spring is sitting on the bench staring at me, begging me to slap it in.
    Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

get the rear off the ground. take out the bolts at both ends of the shock and slide it out. It's that easy.

Never pulled the spring off, just threw the whole damn thing in the trash.

Wish I could throw it in the trash and buy something with more adjust ability. But my wallet and wife say otherwise.

As mention above beside throw them in the trash....:lol3
You will need a spring compress or use a ratched and manual compress the spring. Take it to any auto shop they can swap out the spring for $20 clamps

I've done 4 this way now, no prob. I only use 2 straps though. It adds an edge of unpredictability.

I put the shock in a vise and then do similar to what they do on the floor jack. I hook the straps to the bottom of the vise and crank. It works great.
