WANTED: CENTRAL TEXAS ADVers

Here's my plan. Find an 883. Pay too much. Sell XR at a huge loss. Send 883 motor off for hotrod 88" kit for what I got for the XR. Buy XRX forks and shocks. Put on dual discs. Then have somebody fab up all the scrambler mods. Declare bankruptcy. Lose the bike. End up sitting on the corner making "potato potato" noises and peeing on myself.

Next time you encounter a homeless guy on the street, buy him a meal. You'll hear a story not unlike the one you just outlined. Every time. No kidding.

Just wish you'd choose some other manufacturer when dropping bikes for a big loss. I'm done with H-D.

I posted up this little beauty a while back. No liky the scrambler..? I've definitely had to pull the reins in on one of these.
I do think I'd have leg room issues on it..

UWatching The Wild Bunch filmed in Mexico by Sam Peckinpah and released in 1969. One of the truly great westerns from that genre's golden era. First time viewing the film since I explored the town and hacienda ruins where it was filmed. There's something delightful about watching soldiers patrolling along the top of an aquaduct where I walked and shot pix earlier this year. Sounds a bit silly, maybe. But fun.

And it could tote the big toy(DR) for the pilot.

So I go out to the garage to check air pressure before I go for a little ride, check the rear,
its sitting at about 10psi hmmm. So check tire and I see this little puppy.
Tire has less than 200 miles on it...




Anyways I have the Stop and Go mushroom plug kit and the Slime strips with rubber cement.
Which one ya think I should go with. Tempted to try the mushrooms since that's what I carry on the bike....

Last minute dirty ride leaving from China Spring in the morning . Thinking kick stands up at 9. Leaving from Baylor Camp and 1637.

Always fun to walk in the footsteps of history. Even if it's cinematic history.

The forecast. They missed it.

Hands were straight up toasty this time. Problem solved. I ended up having to turn the 1150's grip heaters DOWN.

But I actually saw another bike on the road this morning. A silver standard(?) of some sort. I see him a lot going the opposite direction on 67 between Keene and Alvarado.

. It is beautiful day in my neighborhood.

I will only plug a tire on the side of the road, but when I get home I'll pull the plug and patch it using Xtra Seal Patches. I've found they work the best for me after using them in our tire shop for several years. They are easy to pull through the hole in the tire with a pair of pliers.

Damn. It is a great day.

Saw your last minute ride post too late this morning! Quite nice down south today too, though.

Sweet !! I had a ball! We had to stay close because TXjames is milking the last $5.25 out of his rear tire.

But TXjames , WacoDirtryder, the lawnguy81 (for the first half ) and I stomped on the terra. For those who have never seen an airhead all sideways piloted by a fella who has been doing it a long time , give yourself a treat and ride with Joe. He will amaze you on a gravel/dirt road.

We hit the big water crossings nearest to us and several old favorites before the nephew decided we needed to ride the railroad road . It is a nasty piece of work on a big bike. I have done it twice on Big Ugly and twice on KilLeR . Waaaaay easier on KilLeR. Better still when I had her geared down to "tractor".

KilLeR and I did fine on the up and downhill gnarlys but she and I hated the mile or more long foot deep large loose rock chips. My oh my. We did not like that. (James went back looking for me. I was fine . Just s l o w.) Like sand, the only way to make any progress was to stay on the throttle or the front became a uncontrollable plow. I lost momentum twice and it was a bitch. Finally found a speed that didn't scare the shit outta me but kept the plow effect to a minimum. Never in any real danger of falling, just a bitch.

I'll show y'all where it is. lol
