You can't touch .22 LR anywhere on my side of the Cascades. I was over in Yakima last weekend, though, and got a tip about an ACE Hardware in Sunnyside that had a pretty good stock - CCI LR HP, $7/brick of 100.

Yeah, I stocked up. Despite my objections to feeding the frenzy. Of course I'd just bought a 10/22 takedown at Cabela's a couple hours earlier.

Same ACE had a Shooter's Ridge 25rd mag and an extra Ruger 10rd rotary mag, where Cabela's had squat for accessories. Yeah, bought those too :lol3

Way to resist the hype :lol3

I think I bought Midway's last eight boxes of Armscor 9mm for like 23 cents a round a few weeks ago... it seemed outrageous at the time but I'm glad I did. btw the Armscor has worked flawlessly :thumb

I just got back from buying a Mosin Nagant for my son's birthday. He loves the old military stuff. I felt lucky to find it. Wasn't long ago you'd see racks of them for under $100 but apparently the importer supply has dried up recently. 7.62x54R is one of the few rounds readily available. I picked up a 440rd spam can - they had skids of them.

EDIT: Anyone need a couple pounds of used cosmoline?

No disrespect here. I'm from Canada, so I've never heard of him. Do you mean to tell me somebody shot him at a gun range? On purpose? What's with some of these sick fucks? You guys don't need gun control, you need "ass hole" control! FUCK!

Very sad situation. Chris and his buddy were out at the range near Glen Rose, TX and the killer was a guy that Chris had been trying to help out with his PTSD. I am guessing that the guy was so screwed up he hated anybody who loved the military and the uniform like Chris did. It apparently happened early before anybody else was around and it took two hours to find Chris and his bud shot dead. I admired Chris when I saw him on TV talking about smacking Ventura, who had barged into a team wake for another bud who had been killed in Afghanistan. He seemed like the best the military has to offer and lived it in style and grace.

With all due respect, there is a pending lawsuit over whether that really happened, and the facts as you've posted them are different than what I've read elsewhere. It's my understanding Ventura was in Coronado as a keynote speaker to a graduating class of SEAL, and that he happened to be at the same bar, not that he barged into a wake. The facts will continue to come out over the instance.

    RIP Chris Kyle.

No disrespect taken, Lyle, at least by me.

I was once a soldier. When I returned from my tour of duty, many in our country were not very friendly to Vietnam veterans. I went to college on the G.I. Bill (paid for about half of my education) and I took a fair amount of crap from my fellow students. Most were from the newly formed Young Democrats. The president of that group called me a baby killer not long after the Mi Lai incident came to light. ( I didn't serve in the Americal and never witnessed anything like that. My unit was very professional.) I was quite angry during those days and probably had a mild form of PTSD. One day, I saw my antagonist pulling into a parking place on campus. I ran over and beat the shit out of him as he tried to exit the vehicle. I still recall the rage I felt but I never even though about doing anything worse to him.

I think you're right, we need ass hole control.

From the sounds of it, the shooter was there for PTSD therapy.

But yea, I think you summed up about 90% of the shootings in the USA - need for asshole control. People in this country need to stop solving their problems with guns - of course much of that violence is gang related.

Yeah, I've read a number of the stories reported about the incident. Putting a link to a story doesn't make it any more true. The story is being disputed, through a lawsuit. I'm not saying Ventura isn't a scumbag, because I don't know. I do know there is more than one side to every story, and a lot times there are a number of sides to a story. Kyle's is one side. Kyle's defense requested the lawsuit be dismissed and a judge felt there was enough to Ventura's side of the story (including witness(es)) to move the litigation forward, so it was not dismissed. I have no dog in the fight, but Kyle was being sued for slander/defamation and at least one person there that night said it never happened. Links to stories reported in the news doesn't make truth. The truth is.

In honor of Chris Kyle I will respond one more time. Did you read the comments from the people at the wake at the end of the link? If you did and can still have any doubts about Ventura's action at this event, then you need to evaluate your reasoning ability and read up on the history and previous actions and statements by the narcissist asshole Ventura.

What I read was there was one person willing to testify the event occurred, that they heard what Kyle claims Ventura said and saw Kyle hit Ventura, out of all the people there. I also read that there were SEALS/SEAL/BUD trainer and owner of the bar that was/were there willing to testify that it did not occur. I think taking in as much as I can and making an informed decision is rational. I think making a decision based on Internet comments likely is not rational decision making. BTW, I have not made a decision as to what happened because as far as I can tell there is one witness willing to testify on one side and at least one or more on the other side willing to testify. I am not defending either person, just reiterating there are witnesses on both sides, and more than one side to the story.
