Ze Hélio is using a Speedbrain BMW in the upcoming Sertoes rallye: Never heard anything regarding Viladoms, though
That BMW looks great and the speedbrain kit not ridiculously expensive. I wonder if my wife would even notice if my old CRF turned into one of those....
Hmm, the press release is about the 2011Dakar, maybe Helio and Villadoms aren't using a Beemer in that race. I know Bert Duursma mentioned "a famous South-American rider that had won the Des sertoes before" as one of the people using a BMW in the Sertoes Rally, on a Dutch forum a few months ago.
Here some pics I took of Frans Verhoeven and his G 450 RR... I talked to him 3 weeks ago about the new opportunities. He likes the G450RR very much and is happy about his new team-mate. They did some training in south of France the last weeks. Curious how they compete at Pharao Rallye in October.
sorry to spoil everyone's bmw wet dreams but this is the next bike/rider dakar winner: and it's prettier too!!!!!!
lol yes he needs it for his frame for sure! and they got a few electronic issues. As far as pretty (if you remove the factory 690s of Despres and Coma) , I don't agree. The best looking (design, overall and technical details, integration of tanks and rally features) bikes in Rally today are the BMWs for sure. Every engineer of every brand was stuck around Verhoeven ' s bike in Buenos aires this past january. The Sherco is also pretty cool in its simplicity and full carbon robe.
we'll see in january!!!! i will even bet on the Aprilia, so who's in? put your money (or anything really) where......bla,bla,bla...
Amen to that, brother!!! The perfect weight distribution on those bikes is simply amazing. Just look at all the race pics taken of Frans, the majority of them he's always riding on just the back wheel
OH well....The thing is that Franz is an amazing trial rider to start with. Second is that the original enduro bike, having too much weight on the frt, having a loss of traction but all this got resolved with large tank being all on the rear. It made the bike perfectly balanced. Still took half of Dakar for Franz to really get used to riding a "small" bike again in rally. When you've raced the 700 Factory KTM, it is really tough to go back to a "normal" bike. So this ralybike is
