Got up early this morning and raced out to Barstow to meet up with 2on2off and his buddy OldBMW.
They were out scouting routes for Jim's CANAL project > http://advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=932268
Covered ~100 miles of big open desert from Barstow to Red Mountain. I don't think we saw anybody until the Husky monument.

    On a side note...

It was about halfway thru the day before I realized I had crossed paths with OldBMW (also Jim) before.

Not uphill, but there was a little head wind.
Traction was limiting factor. Bike showed 117 :evil

Jim sent me some cell phone pics from yesterday...

Just took my new XT250 up to Rowher yesterday. I live next door to the place, so let me know of you want weather conditions. I've only been riding a year (ttr125l), but am looking forward to longer rides and more adventures now that I have the perfect bike.

I've spent a lot of time in the desert lately... I'm thinkin' mountains and trees are in order :nod
Hoping that snow and ice will be not be a problem due to recent weather.

    Arrowhead?

Welcome to the asylum Niki :wave

Despite the title, activity in this thread tends to focus around the Cajon Pass and San Bernardino Mtns areas.

Naturally, you are more than welcome to join us over here to the east :deal
If you choose to start off with local rides, just be sure to take pics and share the adventure :thumb
