Please, folks, READ THE FIRST MESSAGE IN THIS THREAD. Rule #4: You do not post request for files or access. PM the appropriate people.
In! Thanks everybody! Oh really, is that why last year I started out watching via public links and torrents, but eventually they all got take-down notices? It basically came down to people re-hosting it faster than they could issue take-downs. It became a huge PITA. I would GLADLY pay $50 for legitimate viewing in Canada, but nobody wants to take my money, it's insane!
tor~s made from television broadcasts will not be taken down. If your ISP is blocking the site, search for a proxy. There are tons of abuse by companies bullying ISPs into abusing customer rights for them. The only time television would be a problem is if you were charging admission. You have always had the right to record television and radio and share at will. Nothing has changed except a bunch of hoo-hah. If you can't figure out how to get around their abusive and illegal obstacles, then that is on you. I posted for the benefit of the few reasonable people left in the world, and it is there for their use. If you don't like it don't use it and go back to begging for some password. I couldn't give two sh!ts much less waste half a breath arguing the point. World has turned into a Brady Bunch, pansy-assed joke, when grown men ninny about things like copied TV shows.
A) I'm willing to pay good money to NOT have to spend my precious time searching for tors, running VPNs, or finding proxies. Been there, done that, it sucks. B) I'm also willing to pay good money to be able to legally and easily view my purchased files on ANY device that I own. This is another area that most of the "Including Digital Copy" companies don't seem to get. C) I'm also willing to pay good money for a file that is intelligently encoded so that I can play it on most any player, including PS3. But nobody wants my money, so I do this. Too late, you already did waste much more than a breath arguing the point. These guys are offering one-stop service. For that, I am very thankful.
Last year during the Dakar JMLatvalafan had 3 different youtube channels shut down and ended up in fille shareing land, it wasnt eurosport getting it done it was the control freaks at the ASO. Yes its all available from 2012 now , but if you want to stay realativly up to date you can hedge your bets if it will be here quicker or other torrent sites such as PB and where the better coverage will be. Having options is good.
If I could pay for Dakar coverage, I would. I buy my music from Amazon MP3 because it's simple, the MP3 files I can use on any platform, and quick. I also buy/rent movies from Amazon and Netflix. If I could buy Dakar coverage for $50, I would do it in a second. However, I know it's a lot harder with video. Every bit of music and every logo shown on TV has to be cleared and people have to be paid for every country it's aired in. And that's just the start of the paperwork mess.
No VPN necessary, a simple proxy can be found on Google in less than a second.. The vids are in a format useful on many devices. If you bought a device with Digital Rights Management, consider it a life lesson, and try to overcome it instead of just giving up. As far as the bar comment goes, that's pretty rich. Virtually everything is illegal now days. US citizens break an average of 7 laws per day, most without even realizing it. Comes a time when you've got to continue living, instead of just resigning yourself to the tidy little cell they've crafted out of petty laws. If you guys want to have one stop shopping for $50, go for it. I see 170 people yesterday and 221 today that disagree and went ahead and downloaded it. Different strokes for different folks. Oh, and Youtube will take down anything, even home movies, on a whim. What they do should never be held up as a legal precedent, barrister!
For the record... There is no harvesting of email addresses. A simple PM through the forum is all that is required. There is no control freak puffery. There are a few guys who are working on their own time, in spite of insane work hours and family commitments to provide an EASY place for people to get access. Personally, I do not use public trackers. Call me crazy, call me maybe. I have been on the two big private trackers for 7 years and I prefer that to TPB or anything else. Private trackers do not have open invites for all to join or we would obviously go that route. Oh and BTW, I just went to TPB and did a "Dakar" search... LOL... Nice pop up ad... and they only have SD of the first two stages... that is sooo yesterday. Years ago when I first started doing this, we were posting torrent links directly in the forum posts. The admins asked us to kindly not do that. No problem there. I'm happy to comply, since this is not my forum. I get PM's all the time from people asking me for a one click solution. Many people on this forum can tear down a thumper and put it all back together blindfolded. They can't find a "proxy" or use a VPN, nor do they care to invest the time to learn how. I do know how to do that so it's easy for me. We all choose to use our strengths to benefit other's weaknesses. Not that hard a concept... If you are that oppressed, feel free to opt out. Over the past few years I have had literally hundreds of people thanking us for what we do here for two weeks every January. As long as people are appreciative, I will continue to help. FYI, the rules are more to help with the organization than anything else... Otherwise no one would know who to ask for what or how...
Note the "PM group" of people aren't sending The Secret to people with zero posts. Yeah, there's a shitload of people signing up just to get The Secret. What's up with that?
