Ok, let's do South Wilmont Road (all the way at the end) at 9am. We will go into the Santa Rita's maybe over to Senoita for gas and food and then back out.

I realize this isn't happening but I'd like to do this ride some time with more notice.

That is one of my favorite places to ride. Although last time I went they had graded the road and it was pretty hardpack. It was strange, but still a lot of fun.

    Hope you feel better HTM.

The area that AZ state land has closed is really quite small. As you enter on McKenzie Ranch Rd it turns into N. Owl Head Rd and Cochise Canyon Tr. To the west is a small wash and to the east is a larger wash. The power line Rd. is the north border down to the fence line road to the south. Everything between the power line road and the fence line road and the first two washes west and east is closed. A big rectangular area is closed. There is a make shift motocross track to the east and a large flat staging area to the west. There are a ton of signs so it won't be hard to figure out what is closed.

Ok fellow Tucson riders, who wants to try the Santa Rita Mountains ride again. Start at the very South end of Wilmont Road. Let me know whether this Saturday or Sunday works better. Giving some advance notice here :1drink

I was possibly planning on leaving work around noon and riding in that area Friday afternoon since I work on that side of town. If I don't do that I could meet on Sunday. Would anyone else want to meet on Friday that maybe can't go on the weekend?

I could meet Friday after lunch. I'm very familiar with that area. We could work our way over to Box Canyon then up to Melendez Pass then the "high" road to Gardner/Cave Canyon then back to Greaterville via the "low" road and return through Rosemont. I ride that area 2 or 3 times a week.

Just ran Box Canyon and Rosemont today. Box Canyon has been recently graded. They have graded off the washboard and replaced it with an even coat of loose marbles!!!! I love it when they "help" us like that.

John, did you find these fellas playing "share the road" with you?

A lot of the back roads going high before Greaterville to Gardner Canyon(4113, 4084, 4085, etc.) were also graded recently. Nice day for a ride.
