Cataloochee 03/25/06

so after the run at Mortimer / Sally Maple we headed over to look for a single track we saw off Max Patch Road last year

he's happy

going ridin

so we try going up Wileys Creek

the white stuff got real deep real fast

but it was purty

threw on the flash so I could see the flakes better

Dingledork FINALLY decided to put on his rainsuit

a good dry spot

I was already dressed for it

love those HT Oberpants & my Kili

but my 3 year old Oxtar Matrix boots finally let me down

the sole started peeling loose on the left toe, I felt water :eek1

but some BLACK duct tape and I was good to go again

so we went up Max Patch Road and found the same conditions

no waterfalls today, today it was WINTER SCENES

we decided to go check out Cataloochee

well the road goes up to about 3500 ft

it started snowing like crazy (sorry no pics) it would have been a great video ..

really cool stuff (for us easterners anyway)

so Cataloochee has a paved road, but you have to run gravel to get to it

we got to the observation hill and couldn't see shit

snow gnomes left y'all a message on top

my stuff was dry and secure in Mr Ortleib's bag
