I installed the case mounted one a few months ago and it never would stay out, had to hold it out with my hand until bike warmed up, ready a problem. Have not contacted Procycle about this problem but the previous one I bought from them stayed activated until pushed in. Not holding its self in out position is a PITA. TraveGuy
All you'll ever need to know about your carb. http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=347184&highlight=bst40
How deep is deep? The hole is on the top so only about 3mm lower than with the snorkel. There is already a drain tube on the airbox.
Definitely wouldn't ride anything that deeper than the snorkel... not intentionally anyway. Was considering more in regards to water splashing or being pushed up by the motion of the bike. Probably less of a worry than I originally thought.... ER70S - Thanks for the carb link that will keep me reading for awhile.
Actually, with the side of the airbox off the water being pushed was a major issue, so I had to ride extra slow. Not sure about with the top off.
I should add: the BST bible was started by a KTM rider, there are differences between the two; so don't freak when something doesn't match.
There's an adjustment under the rubber boot right at the 90degree bend. I bet that will fix it. I've had other bikes with non-sticking Choke knobs and it's generally a matter of adjustment.
I was wondering if anyone else has experienced a noise in between first and second gear. A couple times recently, I've had a noise that sounds like I'm in between gears when I come to a stop and have my clutch pulled in- like I'm in between gears(clanky) When I shift into gear, and take off the noise goes away. Thanks...08 DR
I see some new blood here, amidst the regulars, so I thought mention the DR650SE Index. There's a link in my sigline, and in the Bike Specific Index thread that's stickied at the top of the Thumpers page. It's meant to be a resource for information about our favorite dualsport- sort of a file cabinet. I'd also like to re-invite everyone who has an experience, a link or a write-up they'd like to share to please add to our knowlege. And I'd like to sincerely thank everyone who's taken the time to contribute to what we have so far. It would be nothing without the time and effort you've put into it, and I'm most grateful ...
Hey does anybody know which bike the MX-Rob FCR carb for the DR comes from? I need to order a new choke for mine because it won't stay engaged. Thanks. Rob
I believe the FCR Carbs come from several bikes ... but mostly Yamaha 450 MX or some 450 Quad. I think it's a FCR 39 ? I have a WR250F with (I think) a FCR 39 on it. If not a 39 then maybe one number down? Dunno. But several bikes use the FCR's ... ask Rob, he will know more.
Speaking for myself and I'm sure for many, many others: we are very grateful for your efforts, also! Lex
Being a new blood I have reading all the topics you have posted in the bike specific thread . I have learned a lot it's much prepared thanks
If I remember correctly from your other post and pictures of your bike, it looks like you have been busy this winter adding lots of goodies to your bike. Looks Great!
