Hi, I'm hoping some of you out there can help.
I've aquired some Krauser K1 panniers & I was hoping to fit them to my 2001 R1150GS, I'm looking for positives & negatives...but preferably someone in the North East who has done this or something like it before to a very good standard.
I've assembled the framework & it looks possible to the untrained eye. The rear foot rests look ideal as a lower point of weight distribution.
I understand the subframes on these bikes are prone to bad wear if over weighted but I'm a light traveller & I'm not going to be off road...much.
Ideas please if you have any...:dunno

If you have access to a welder, it's not that hard. I got a set of Zegas that had a rack from a KLR. I cut all the mounting arms off and rebuilt it to fit my GSA.
This is what I started with.

This is installed on the bike.

I thought I had pics of just the racks, I can post some later.

That looks great, maybe I need to think about doing a welding course but for now I think I'll rely on a good quality well established time served professional.
Good to know that it can be done though.
I've arranged to see such a bloke on Sunday afternoon who says he'll have a look & I know I'll get an honest opinion.
    Cheers for the pics.*
