After talking to Bill tonight about the route, mileage, ride time, and so on and so on and so on.... WOW! Best of luck to you Bill. Time to change your name to Superman! Big thanks to Julie for the shirts and stickers. I'll gladly be rockin' those on the truck and bike. Hummm....now only if there were some mechanic shirts. :clap

So much build-up of the race makes me want to jump on the bike and go ride...

I went riding today and it was a bit chilly, but it made me stop a moment and think, I had on Jonah's '10 black patchless Klim Inferno Riff Raff jacket as an outer layer, Ned's sport fabric T as a first layer, and when the ride was over I changed into Bill's Dakar T shirt for comfort on the way home. :lol3

    Best of luck, Bill!

Yip, but he went wrong in the road book there at the end.... :D

I'm sure by now he is more observant and totally ready! :evil

All the best for your Dakar Bill. :thumb

Yeah, too funny. That was my biggest navigating mistake over the weekend. I followed the road up to the snow peaks before turning around... My ICO was off a little showing the mileage being short so I kept going. After passing a few more turn offs that went no where I back tracked to that turn....and Charlie was waiting in the bushes.

Just found Bill's rider profile on dakar.com if you click HERE. I might be late to the game on this but was very excited (although the quote doesn't sound like him).

Interesting, if you mouse over the "vehicule" it shows him as having Desert Rose for assistance. Is this a mistake or perhaps are Desert Rose and Rally PanAm somehow officially connected now? I would expect that they do help each other out at times but didn't think they had any official connection.

From Bills blog, bike is on it's way down south! Actually looks like this was posted yesterday so hopefully the bike has arrived in Argentina already.

"The ingenuity that has gone into this build is truly remarkable," commented Husqvarna's Product and Racing Manager Derek Sorenson. "The fact that a privateer effort like Conger's made it to the starting line is an achievement in itself. Now all that's left to do is go racing!"

King Conger is on his way. I talked to him this morning; wish I was going too! We're all behind you 100% Bill. Have a great ride and race well. :clap
