We couldn't decide what to do with our Saturday morning. I said lets go camping. An hour later the dogs were at boarding and we had hit the road. Here are some pics.

Thanks for the RR. My wife and I drove (car) over to Hunting Island Friday and went down to the state park, also went out on the marsh boardwalk you pictured. I like your hammock camping, looks simple. I live in Bluffton, pm if you are headed this way.

That must be the tinyest shark tooth I've seen.

You sure work some magic with your photography! I've never seen this part of 'our' right coast, and you're not making it any easier to stay away. A few of those shots truly look like another world. Awesome!

There was another guy there and he had a bunch that were insanely small. Think baby cat teeth. I don't even know how he saw them. Yeah it's a tiny little one. I was snorkeling in the Edisto Last summer and I found two that were the size of half dollar coins. Now those were impressive. I was just happy to find one today usually it's my wife that finds all the cool stuff.

What a great idea! I need to get into that groove some time soon instead of so much couch surfing. That camping area looks terrific! Wow. Nice.

Looks like a great trip. Love the pictures, Hammock Camping is the only way to go. How cold did it get? What kind of under quilt did you have?

That's a heavy laden looking bike, but looks like a machine to handle it. An interesting variety of pictures with concise but useful captions. Looks like it was a good trip. Thanks for posting.

    Hey Dom,

Great pics brother. Great use of natural light, sky and backgrounds. All good, I detect a practiced talent here.

Can you share with me what camera was used, I like to ask when I see some home run images. Always on the hunt for a great idea for a new point n shoot or compact SLR arrangement...

That area looks like a great destination I would certainly say. Please continue to share your post-pics and adventures, well done.

My tarp set up did the job. Apparently it rained pretty good for a few hours but my wife said that I just snored through it.

Your pictures are great quality and the area looks almost identical to the North Florida Gulf Coast area where I grew up (Cedar Key, Suwannee, Steinhatchee, etc.). Now that I live in Tennessee maybe I should make a trip to your area. It sure looks like home.

Yeah this area always reminds me of the coastal area around St George island state park. Speaking of steinhatchee I gotta make a trip over that way for the scallop season. I met some people that told me stories of snorkeling for scallops and I haven't been able to get it out of my mind since!

Great photos. Very different from the desert of the Southwest.
