I just got all the parts (I opted for all black bits aside from the hose) from Summit today at work. If my Dremel is here and not at my folks place, I will probably do this modification this week or weekend at some point. I may make a small video if I feel so inclined. I would be interested in a bracket already done up, Craig!

Baron, I used a cutting wheel and did the basic cut and then used a stone to shape and clean the cut afterwards

    Hi Matt,

    Thanks for your interest.

I've got a build list going so I make enough. I'll be filling orders on the list first. I expect to have them ready to ship Fri or Sat.

I'll be gone Tues and Wed. If interested riders don't get a reply, that's why.

    Thanks,
    cj

    Nice looking piece!
For your consideration ... Instead of steel braided *consider going with say earls super stock hose and fittings . ...rated at 250 psi ,Steel braided exterior can act like a saw on whatever it contacts.

    Cj,
Thanks for helping out with this.

Anyone who has done an oil change on a 990 knows it's messy and it does not have to be.

Someone asked how you cut hose?

"there's something machismo about using the biggest chisel I've ever seen and a 3 pound sledge" :rofl

A few more blows and his chinese vice would be cut clean in half!

    Interesting technique, though.

I use an axe to cut hydraulic hoses when doing odd field repairs. One good whack and you're done - and so is the axe..

Yeah, me too. The part numbers are what did it....

Anyway, it looks like it shouldn't be too hard to safety wire the plug if you're worried about it. We did lots of these fittings in my racing days, it's fiddly but not terrible to get em drilled but then you've got no worries.

I bought the valve f109n and did not fit the Dakar, the niple is to long and even if you buy the one without niple there is too little space under the valve to put some sort of rubber tube o a afunnel. You have to cut or trim down that little metal piece of the bashplate if you want it to work.
