Cool little vid man, I was digging listening to that engine. Watching it made me think that i need to practice stuff like this to be a better rider.

some time has passed, how do you like the shinkos now? I found this thread by doing a search for them (don't want to shell out the money for TKC 80s)

Thanks for the reply Jomega! I have no issues with teh Shinkos whatsoever. I ride on the road and in the dirt. After 1200 mostly road miles, the rear tread is showing some wear (flattening on the center of the tire) but not enough to replace yet.

If only we'd known the plastic metalflake helmets would be back in style, we'd have kept them ! :clap:lol3

    Hi Scotty,

Nice job on the 175! It (a blue one) was my 2nd bike, after killing a Honda 100. :lol3 I never killed the Yamaha BTW.

I currently have a yellow 1971 AT1 125. It's in great shape other than the hi-beam/lo-beam control button has been broken off. Do you know of a source for, or someone that restores/refurbishes those controls for the early Yamahas ?

If so, could you PM me please. I don't check here too often.

    Thanks and ride safe!
