You can store that at my house... I'll take very good care of it. BTW, I agree with your weight centralization comment. I rode a 690RR and the nimbleness surprised me.
I thought the forks looked smaller too but assumed it was an optical illusion from having all that "awesome" hanging off the front.
Early 640 brake rotor- yes, the wheels interchange with 660 stuff, which use a 640 brake rotor. 43's- no, they are twin chamber SXS 48s with a giant axle. It was the awesome photo getting in the way.
Alright Ned, we all know you've got some pics of this thing. :ddog I need another photo for my form/technique thread.
Here's one... the rest will have to wait for the ride report. I had an awesome time with the bike. Managed to meet the ex-factory mechanic that cared for this machine in the past, got his help sorting out the rear shock, and got a great feeling with it on the trip. What amazes me most is how big a difference the trellis frame/ etc make at high speed. Soft sand is dispatched with ease I have never found on an enduro based, bike, my theory is that when you ahve the front wheel half buried, and are at full throttle to keep going, the XCW ties itself in a knot. This thing doesn't- dead straight and true. Same with rock hits at high speed- it eats them, you feel the suspension move but none of the whippiness of an enduro bike. Had a blast riding it, now have to figure out what's next for it. Oh, and as for the If you see Kay wine graphics, announcement coming soon...
Damn Ned, you're a worse tease than my wife! Please put a link the ride report and announcement here, ok?
I have removed dents from fuel tanks fill with water apply air pressure slowly tap around the dent edge,it works.
Now I am no engineer but I have read a lot of Kevin Cameron articles. I would guess that the single back bone of the enduro frames simply lack the rigidity of the rally frames. Probably weighs less though. There is always a trade off.
