Generally speaking, yes. Get your spring rates right first. The 950 Adventures are notoriously undersprung if used for anything more than a Starbucks run. Adjust damping to suit.

Damn I thought I was the only one with this problem, I added a side of 4 metatarsuals for a total of 7 breaks. but even the 40 mile ride to the nearest ER was fun.

Learn to keep your legs clear, esp with hard bags. This isn't a dirt bike.
