When you've owned your 950 for 9 years and everyday feels like the first day you brought her home.

You kinda stopped paying attention to the Dakar Rallye when the engine size limitations came about...

When you keep bending a super laced excel rim in high speed dirt rides.

Have you re-sprung and re-valved your suspension? That goes a long way in preventing your issue.

Generally speaking, yes. Get your spring rates right first. The 950 Adventures are notoriously undersprung if used for anything more than a Starbucks run. Adjust damping to suit.

When you tip over at maybe 10mph on a dirt road and the bike is big enough to OBLITERATE your tib/fib.

Damn I thought I was the only one with this problem, I added a side of 4 metatarsuals:cry for a total of 7 breaks. but even the 40 mile ride to the nearest ER was fun.

When after a valve adjustment that took 3 days, you're ready to sell it for something simpler.

Learn to keep your legs clear, esp with hard bags. This isn't a dirt bike.

On a recent 700 mile trip, I consistently got in the low 40's overall. With a heavy load.

You know you are a 950 owner when you get PTSD from riding in deep sand.

Somewhere east of Christmas Valley, Oregon. You definitely get the feeling of being "in the middle of nowhere."
