Husqvarna TE/SM-610 Index Thread

I have been thinking it would be a good idea for to have an index thread like the LC4 folks so we can warehouse our collective info. It will save us effort in the future if we get ahead of the game by starting it now. So chime in and post threads you feel we should add. Also if you have ideas on how it should be organized please advise. At first we will just collect the threads and when there are enough we can start to actually organize and index them...

I think there has been a crap load of info about Jetting. Based on my reading and my personal jetting (I have a Sm610), I came up with the following.

180 Main
50 Pilot
Fuel Screw 1.75 turns out (minimizes decel popping and idles good)
JD Red needle at #5 position for the clip
Leo Slip on
Iridium Plug

Runs like a champ. Pulls hard and clean from Idle to redline.
I am in the sea level to 3K regime with 70-90 degree temps 60% humidity.

Very Happy with the 610, a great all around bike.

Maybe it should be organized into subgroups something like:
Jetting
Suspension
Valve adjustments
Modifications
Maint Tips

Something along those lines. Alot of guys make cool things for their bikes and it would be nice to have them posted for others to see and to give them ideas.

I have the 06 Owners, Part and service manuals. Anybody able to host them and post link here in this thread? One is 8 meg one is 30 meg and one is 19meg

Right on Dan! Why not just duplicate the format of the LC4 index?

Is this 610 manuals or 450/510?

The owners & parts manuals are on the Husky web site & can just get a link to there. Do you have a real shop manual or just the incomprehensable BOZZA DRAFT? I just converted that one to a (126MB!) Word document but it will take a while to clean it up.

That Bozza Draft manual is better than the official one. While it is a pain to hunt through it, the info is in there. There have been a lot of things I was unable to find in the official one, not nearly as detailed.

I have a te610 and jetting seems to be all over the place.

the sm610 seems to be jetted much richer than the te.

doesn't make a lot of sense, but seems to be the case.

Since the majority of riders are on 610's and that is also what I ride we will be focusing on them but feel free to add 250-450-510 info and we can add those too in thier own section...

The LC4 Index will be the jumping off point and we all have much to Thank Meat for as I have already learned quit a bit from reading all the those threads...

Jetting theads and posts need to be at the top of our priority and maybe individuals can post thier jetting and I can copy and paste them into one thread?

I posted a bunch of jetting info on speedzilla (dukepilot) and SMJunkie (huskysm610) for the SM610. Here are my current settings with LV full exhaust, some additional holes in my airbox cover and backfire screen removed:

185 Main
JD Red Needle at 5th position
45 pilot
Fuel screw about 1.5 turns out
Boyesen pump plate
Power Now Plus

This is at sea level.

Also installed one of these with adjustable main and slow air circuits for fine tuning. This helped me eliminate most of the popping on decel.

With this combo of goodies on my carb, it pulls hard from down low with good midrange and decent top end. I'm happy with this setup and it is much improved from stock.

Here is some stuff I posted at Huskytalk for removal of emissions stuff from the 610:

1. Disconnect the carb vent lines/fuel lines and remove the tank and the headlight unit.
2. Take a look at what goes where... where the hoses go.
3. Remove the manifold that is zip tied by the ignition switch
4. Remove the small cannister attached to the lower triple
5. Disconnect the hoses that connect to the pink carb vent lines and reroute the vent hoses
6. Disconnect the hose from the nipple on the intake side of the head, near the carb boot and plug it up with an automotive vacuum plug
7. Remove the large cannister and attached hoses.
8. Install one of those little aluminum no spill fuel vent fittings to the top fuel vent nipple on the tank.
9. Reinstall the tank and headlight and you're good to go. Don't forget to plug the nipple on the side of the head. It is a vacuum line and will suck air otherwise.

I routed the top carb vent lines to a location under the seat and used one of the left over T fittings to connect the lower carb vent hoses (not the carb bowl drain line) and installed a filter and one way valve to keep crap out of the carb. Also rerouted the crankcase vent from the airbox, plugged the hole left in the airbox and capped of the vent hose with a K and N vent filter. Took about 30 minutes to do in total.

I've been thinkin bout the FC2000 from the first time I saw it on SpeedZilla,,, do you know if it can make compensations for altitude changes?? my bikes jetted perfectly for where I am(JD kit & desmogged), bout 500 ft above sea-level, but my plans are to ride to 10,000 ft plus over some passes next year , just tryin to cover all my bases before I run into trouble
