I received my Sargent Enduro today, but dangit I'm out of town on business. Will get home late tomorrow evening to give it a try.

Here's the really cool thing....I received an email from Sargent today that described a $40 refund due to the introductory discount. I didn't even have to ask!!! Great service so far.

I can't wait to give her a try, and let you guys know what I think.

    peace out,
    Ironman

The $40 savings offer wasn't on the website when I ordered mine earlier this week. I received an email from Sargent this morning stating that I received the $40 cash credit. I thought that was very cool, didn't even have to ask them.

OK, I got home early enough today to get in 70 miles on the new Sargent Enduro, as I was too excited to find comfort! I'll do my best to provide a detailed review here so others know what to expect.

DISCLAIMER: Everybody's butt is different, and this review is based solely on my opinion based on my findings thus far. I.E. Don't blame me if you don't like the saddle!!!
    - Rider weight: 200lbs with full gear (need to loose about 20 to get back to my fighting weight)
    - Rider height: 5'11" sometimes 6' dependent upon how long I've been standing that day:D
    - Rider inseam: 31"

    - Previous saddle: Stock standard height at first, stock with DIY dish for the last 500 miles.
    - Riding style: I bought this bike to ride mostly on fire roads(tame to rough), street to get to the fireroads, and an occasional backcountry camping trip loaded down. I didn't buy it for long hwy miles, as I've been there and done that. I'm headed to Moab for two weeks the middle of May, so this sucker will be prepared.
    - Clothes - Olympia Airglide 2 pants, Under Armor underwear (not my favorite but it works)

RESULTS from 40 miles of road and 30 miles of dirt:

    - Quality: fit and finish are extremely well done. The saddle looks great on the bike! I love the material used for the cover, as I do not slide around, but can easily readjust position. The foam is the firmness that I like, and has somewhat of a slight "memory" quality to it. It doesn't just "spring back". I really think this is one of the major components to my below comments in regards to comfort. Small under storage compartment good for credentials. OE Tools fit.
    - Stand over: I would say that stand over height result is very close to what I remember with my stock height saddle. It may be spec'd as a 1/2" higher, but I'm touching almost flat footed with both feet. Maybe a very slight lean to get one foot all the way flatfooted.
    - Comfort: The forward slant towards the tank exhibited by the stock slant is almost all but gone. My nether regions no longer feel like they are in a German vice after 50 miles. 8 out of a 10 on overall comfort. I think the only way I could get a 10 out of 10 is to go custom, and I don't really want a saddle that compromises off-road capabilities for on road comfort, or looks as if it has wings. Doesn't trade off maneuverability for comfort. I can easily slide forward for the knarly stuff, and slide back for more ass support on the long stretches. I've never felt better on any of the saddles equipped on previous bikes owned. I believe I can spend all day on this saddle, as I'm not feeling the hotspots that I used to feel after 50 miles.

Overall, I am really impressed with this addition to the bike. In my opinion it is what should have been on the bike in the first place!!!

Thanks to Sargent for a great product, and great service!!! I hope this review has been helpful.

Did you get the normal carbon FX, or did you get it made out of the grippy material Tinks had mentioned?

Pics would be nice to, eh?

Thanks for that, Ironman. I'm still stuck trying to decide between just staying with the stock seat, on which I'm fairly comfortable, or upgrade to the Sargent or the Renasco. Your review sure hasn't eliminated the Sargent.

How about the little storage compartment? How big is it? Can you think of anything useful you might be able to put in there? And do the OEM tools fit in their slots just as they do with the stock seat?

    Thanks in advance,

    David

I'll second that. I am getting ready to ship my standard Sargent back and cant decide if I am going to go with the Enduro or a TT Touring Standard. Most of my riding is on pavement, all pretty much.

Could you see yourself doing 300-400 miles of pavement on the Enduro seat?

I have the touring model of this seat, the tools fit and the compartment is about an inch deep. I put my owners manual and paperwork for the bike in it. Not room for much else.

Yeah, I'm going to have to ask you to meet me somewhere so I can check out this seat. I'm coaching new students all weekend but let me know when you have a free moment...maybe lunch next week if we don't work too far apart.

    Thanks for the report.

I knew I would leave some stuff out.

Crazy Mike: We can absolutely meet up. I work over off of Butler Rd near Mauldin.

Seat Material: Carbon FX. I find it to have plenty of grip with my textile gear.

Mileage: I could do 300-400 miles on it from my best guess at this point, only after having done 70.

Understorage compartment: I put my credentials in it in a water tight Seal Line bag, and thats about it. OE tools have exact same fitment as stock.

This thing rocks. Pic to follow.

Also, edited my original post to include stuff I'm forgetting.
