Headed to DV this weekend. Planning to camp at Mesquite Springs and ride out to the Race Track, up Lippincot to Saline Valley to Warm Springs. On to Steele Pass, Eureka Dunes, then Crankshaft and back to Mesquite Springs.

The bike? a KTM 530 with 3.9 gallons on board. Anybody have experience with this loop? Know the total milage? I get about 40-45 mpg on the fireroads but any technical uphill it starts to burn the juice.

    Thanks for the advice.

I'd say that you need another gal to be safe.

from the Racetrack, you'll be heading DOWN Lippincott to Saline Valley.

Pack some extra gas in Primus/MSR fuel bottles - you might be ok on range, but it never hurts to have more than you'll need vs. not having enough.

though looking at the date of the post, the OP can tell us how it went now :D
