Well I finally traded my 2012 G650GS in on a 2013 F800GS yesterday. Got the one with ASC and ESA. Really notice a difference with the suspension settings that can be changed on the fly. Love this feature! The traction control works very well too, works even better when it is switched off :D Love all the little goodies like the onboard computer that even tells you if you have a bulb out (not that I am too incompetent to check my bulbs) but it's crazy that my motorcycle has a lot of the same features as my Mercedes!

Uhhh... I can't post attachments. Probably cause I am a NOOB.

I took it to the ORV park today and hit some nice little jumps and sand. What an animal! It's amazing how light it feels in the grit!

It's game on! I had everything I want for the bike picked out before I even bought it. Most of it from Touratech. Anyone have suggestions of real critical items? The first thing I get will be crash bars, skid plates, radiator guard, and maybe TKC80s? Unless there is a better off road tire. New windshield and hand guards are a must.

Here's my list: AltRider crash bars, MOD skid plate, MOD top rack, Touratech pannier rack, Touratech side stand plate.

I don't follow anyone (close) on dirt so not too worried about the radiator (and the plastic guard on it now look fine and I'm wondering how the aluminum ones will attach).

The windshield works fine for me, as does the stock seat.

The only thing that's a question mark are the Highway Dirt Bike hand guards - they don't fit the current bar ends we have so Paul is doing a one-off to see if he can make a set to work with the 2013 F700/F800GS (it's in the mail, got the confirmation).

Once I burn through the Anakees (which really shouldn't be long, ~2,000 miles right now) I'm going with some K60's because I do a lot of miles which include highway and twisties.

    Oh yeah, pivot pegz.

    my farkling list:

Barkbuster or TT handguards, TT headlight guard, sw motech skidplate, holan pro's or sw motech crashbars,

for offroad action I wouldn't change the windscreen, neither would I change the seat. Otherwice bmw comfort seat and TT windshield.

but that's what's great about farkling: make your own bike like you please. at the end you will have your own personal farkling stuff fixed to it like no other guy has.

What about exhaust? I really like the Remus Hexacore and obvoiusly the Akrapovic is popular. And as far as tuning goes... Are the 800s able to compensate for aftermarket exhaust without any modifications? Seems like they run a little bit rich (mine does anyway) so if the exhaust leaned it out a bit it should be ok.

I had K60s on my G650GS and I have to say I am very impressed with their street performance and longevity. I only got 6000 miles out of my stock Metzeler rear tire before it was unusable. The K60 on the rear was up to 6000 miles when I traded it in and probably could have easily gone another 1000 miles. I just never got a chance to use them offroad and I am wondering how they compare to something like a TKC80?

Touratech claims their crash bars connect to the frame and others use the engine. Most likely the BMW crash bars.

The biggest thing is going to be the Zega Pro cases.

I agree it's because it was directly in the sun. When you see the color in person it is a lot darker.
