    Crafty -

I built the TET-S as part of the TET project.

Please do not post it or your tracks from riding it.

You agreed to this when you requested the file.

    Honor your own word.

I did so as soon as I was requested to. I didn't recall the derivative tracks portion of the prohibition when I posted it. I only posted a 100 mile and 60 mile portion of TetS that was non contiguous, furthermore, I did so only so intothenew could see the photos from the trail as he requested. The trespass was rather slight. Amusingly I've ridden many of the roads on TetS before my mind was poisoned by having seen the TetS maps. I'm wondering if I should pull out those old tracks that I created BEFORE I saw your TetS map and post them since they are not fruits of the poison tree. What do you think? Or does my having ever seen the TetS map prohibit me from sharing any knowledge I have about the area?

I still cannot figure out the motivation for these prohibitions. Who gains from it? You guys share the maps with anyone who requests them. All the prohibition does is slow down the process of getting the content out and requires more labor out of those responsible to doing the sharing. If there was money involved, I would understand, but there isn't. No meaningful vetting is done before the files are shared. It's like you guys built a walled fortress with an ornery soldier at the gate to guard a stack of free newspapers. What is the point? (rhetorical question)

    Doesn't really matter, does it?

The folks who have been involved in this project have stated all along that they will share the information with the caveat that it is not to be posted in the public domain. AFAIK - that request has been honored by all who have been recipients of their work.

    Their game, their rules.

You have made your feelings known, and now it's time to acknowledge everyone's position, and return the focus of the thread to the TetS.

Thanks, I'll try it this spring! Wish there was something like this in mid Florida from Brookesville to Daytona or Bradenton to East coast.

    Thanks again,

    Ken

    To ad lib Monty Hall:

    Let's make a track.

We need six miles of track log for a big bike bypass near Ellijay GA. From the intersection of route 2/Dalton St and Boardtown road in town, follow route 2 Northwest to the intersection of Gates Chapel road. Then, follow Gates Chapel road to the intersection of Zion Hill road. I'll trade you what is behind door number 1, if it is a recorded log.

We also need some intel on a bridge across Juniper Creek just North of Morgan Place FL. Current intel will get you what is behind door number 2.

Those are both outside the areas I'm familiar with but I'll try to contact that Florida county's DOT first of the week and see what the deal is on the bridge, and get back to you. I can see why it's important.

I got a volunteer, via PM, on the track log. If you can run down the condition of that bridge, that would be great.

Looks like I best get something of substance behind those doors.:lol3

That bridge is on Forest Service Road 125 (I believe) just in Liberty County.

The Forest Service office in Bristol, Florida's phone number is 850-643-2282.

I've called there 3 times - twice in May and once in June - got the voicemail for the road engineers, left a message, and they've never called back.

When I was there in the first few days of April, the bridge had a span that had been removed, and there was heavy equipment there working on the bridge. Unfortunately there was no one around as it was a weekend. It looked like they intended to fix the bridge, but I really don't know.

Are they fixing it? replacing it? or just removing it?

In that case how bout a night with Vanna..oh, wrong channel. Ok, I'd settle for a 690 enduro. :rofl

No worries, glad to assist, maybe we'll get lucky.

Yep, I saw where it is and why you need it, looks good btw. This is a fairly common scenario in Fla. and Ga., it can take anywhere from six months to a year and a half for repairs or to replace, but usually they eventually get to it. Probably can get some info.
