Does anyone like the old iron truss bridges? I did a 207 mile dual sport ride with a buddy and we rode out to this bridge that was built in 1905. Not a single guard rail on it. It is sort of the best of both worlds for me, the bridges are a hobby and I get to ride out to most of them. I have started a new blog and am posting info about the ones in the area where I live.

wow doesnt seem to have much diagonal bracing along the length of the bridge, although the columns look quite stout!

I shot a bridge that was built in 1906 (1 year later than this one) and although it had guard rails on it, it actually had less bracing than this one.

There are several of these along Bear Creek. I have found most of them but a few are still out of reach so far. From what I can gather they were all built in the 1920's...some even earlier. I just can't figure out what the concrete structure is next to the one above. That was the only one I have found that has that structure beside the bridge....

This small bridge is over the river Boyne in the east of Ireland. It is at a point where a battle of some major European political significence took place, though the battle itself was not hugh.It happened in 1690 between King James II of England and William,Prince of Orange (a Dutch man)!

This second shot, taken on the bridge, looks east and shows part of a new toll bridge on the main Dublin to Belfast road.

Sincerely, I haven't checked them all, so here you have (probably someone already posted it) the 25th of April bridge (Ponte 25 de Abril), Lisbon, on a winter morning.
