This guy lives in NC, a riding heaven that shreds tires like no other, especially for spirited riders - combination of so many corners and rough road surfaces. My group used to do an annual 3k round trip down there, incl. 800 miles of slab between CT and the BRP and it was very rare to be able to make the round trip on the same set of tires - and mostly from new PR2 and Z6 sport-touring tires. We normally get about 4.5-5k up North... twice the number of corners, half the mileage.

Interesting. I ride in North Georgia and Western N.C. and I usually get half of what most people report for tire usage. I just figured y'all were a bunch of liars.

+1 Really pleased with the grip, performance, and mileage out of the front T63. 4200 miles out of a front knob is a record high for me.

Anyone else tried to put the HT Rack on a bike with the Arrow can?

It's- ah, close. Closer, I think, than HT intended, from talking with them. Both the midpipe and front of the cannister / heat shield are different.

Well, I took the 800XC out for a test ride and really liked it....then I took an Explorer out and LOVED it:raabia

I really like them both, the XC was very light and nimble with a great throttle response. The Explorer I thought fit me better ergonomically, The bars, seat and pegs are seemed to fall in place...and that engine...WOW:eek1 It pulls like a freight train. It only had 13 miles on it so I only ran it up to 4k but you could feel the potential.

So now I'm torn...I like the lighter weight and off road capability of the XC but I also like all the extras the Explorer has...decisions, decisions:deal

I was rather pissed with their stupid design. Sent my Leo Vince can back because it wouldn't fit on with their rack.
All they would have needed to do was turn the front support up and in and connect to the main frame. But no, they put it RIGHT where the header pipe for the can is. I wrote them, they said yeah, sorry, we probably won't fix it.

Did I say I was pissed off about it???? :rofl

I knew I should'a gone Wolfman. Would have but already had cases drilled and everything. And they changed their rack design too, so had to redrill and patch my cases. Good thing they're cheapo plastic ones.

    I'm NOT impressed.

Can't go wrong with either. That Explorer is bad-ass....but I still like my XC.

thanks! Looks like I've got something else to do this weekend. Did you have to add some wire or just reroute the existing?

Question, are there any differences between the 2011 model and the 2012? A white XC just popped up for sale not too far from me. 2,000 miles he's asking $9300

The frame paint color on some (not all) 2011 models is silver. Some are black.

The frame paint color on 2012 models is black.

In 2011, a few came without ABS. In 2012, most came with ABS. That is a $1000 difference.

Does it have ABS? If so, it's a great deal. If not, it's still ok.
