Yep, just a couple of scratches and a souvenir:

Even did some road maintenance on a big gnarly climb - a rock just like this one smashed one of the rocker covers on a GS (pic 3 in previous post is the said climb):

Thanks for all those posting pic in this thread. I have been trying to justify a Wee and seeing it off road is making me want one even more. I know it's not a 990 but I ride 90% or more slab. I think the Wee will do what I want it to do off road which is mostly fire road stuff anyways. Now I just need to decided if I want an ABS model or not. Can you disable the ABS on a Wee?

From Motorcycle News in the UK - one of their journalists contending with recent flooding in the UK on their long term test V-Strom 650

Does it really count as 'offroad' - after all there is tarmac under that water :rofl:rofl:rofl

About 2-3 inches deeper, and he'll get water in the air intake.

That's about as deep as it will go. Airbox snorkel is almost under water!

Unlike a well known German motorcycle :evil, DL's do cope quite well with deep water.
I'll admit - that's pretty much the limit and you do want a nice smooth bow wave plus no unexpected holes when it's that deep but the air inlet is at least higher than the riders knees.

When you start to wonder if you've pissed yourself though - definitely too deep :lol3

Sorry. I have always used a photobucket account and it works fine. If you've got something different, you'll need help from someone more smarter than me.

I've been trying to decide if I want to take my dl650 to Colorado next summer and ride some of the high passes. I came across this video while searching youtube. Some of the stuff near the end looks like terrain that could be similar to some of the passes in CO. I'm still not sure if I want to try it on the dl though.

Having ridden 100,000 plus miles on Dl1000's and a Dl650 and having done much of what I see on your video there are better bikes for that. I'm taking my DR650 to Mexico next month to rodes like I see on this video and leaving my V Strom at home.
