Found the Rat at Craig Creek Rec Area. Great place to ride a dual sport to.

Didn't take the Rat too far. In Craig Co. there is a paved road (3 digits adds up to 12) that goes over the mountains between Price Mt. and Caldwell Mt. and goes toward Fincastle. Before you get to Botetourt Co. there is a National Forest Rd. 5064 go to the end to the overlook.

The rat is hiding under the rock.

Riding from the Fincastle side it has everything. Lots of twisties, lots of riding under the cool shade of tree canopies, lots of riding along side a cooling mountain stream. At the top of the ridge, before you either descend towards Fincastle or Patterson Creek area, I took my first deer during rifle season many years ago. Hiked up the ridge a few hundred yards and sat down. Saw a doe within 1/2 hour, but it was not doe season. Later I heard a ruckus from below, saw a couple of squirrels playing in the leaves. Just a minute later, a spike buck comes along. The 25.06 was overkill, but the deer did not suffer. Downhill drag made it easy. Beautiful area, worth the ride!

After 90 miles, we made it there by 10:45 am today. No Rat! :)

Would have taken the rat on a little trail ride on the Blue Ridge Trail. (Pic below not technically on the trail).

Probably for the best, one section was a bit rough going for me. Not sure the rat really likes to get muddy :) (Or go that slowly! :rofl).

Still a fun ride on a day with almost perfect weather. Fun to see so much taggin:) Next time!

Looks like big T got there first. Dropped it there because it is 5 minutes from work, and the location is cool. Smack Dab in a regular neighborhood, you literally ride between two houses to get to it
