Good to see that the camera survived the off. Cool photos Marty.

Easy does it on the recovery, but as soon as you feel up to it start walking. That really helped me....

Thanks mate. Went for checkup earlier today and all appears to be going to plan except I'm experiencing way more pain than they expected. They have changed my pain meds so hopefully can get on top of it. I should have some footage on the gopro but can't seem to find it. The rescue folks said they collected it from the scene but that it was broken. If I can get the SD card out of it there should be some great shots. Give me something to do over the weekend hunting for it.

Yup it's me alright the 690 kid. But maybe not for much longer. Had a quick look over the damage this arvo. Heart breaking to see so many broken bits on my bike. All repairable though. Hard to see how the frame cannot be bent but I guess the insurance company will make their own decision on writing it off or not? Not very experienced with that side of things. I,m looking pretty eagerly at the 350 free ride which might suit me a little better going forward. But don't know a whole lot about them. I want to keep riding as I love it passionately and we have such an awesome group of people to ride with.

Andy Mac has just ordered a Freeride 250R - due mid December and I'm riding on Sunday with a guy who has a freeride 350 which I will hopefully beg a ride on.

I've been mulling over whether to replace both the trials bike and trail bike with a 250/350 freeride.

My Beta has just burnt out its second stator in 3 months so its not in my good books at the moment....

ooooh any reports on the free ride would be cool. the bloke who sold me my beta told me to remove the stator cover after each ride and dry it out as they sweat a tad. have done it a few times...amazing how wet it was in there...maybe that's ya problem?

I think you may be right - the area around the flywheel/stator was very wet - I'll let it dry after a wet ride in future.

I rode the freeride yesterday and wasn’t that impressed.
Its tiny - feels like a kids bike. It has nice low end power but still has that typical light flywheel, fuel injected tendency to stall. First seemed too short and I spent most of my time on the bike slipping the (heavyish) clutch in second.

I'll be very interested to see what the 250 is like.

    Mangahou dams (Shannon) this afternoon.

First half is freshly graded but the rest is good.

Looking across top dam with a couple of bikes in the way.

    Hi Steve

Can't make it this time. Slept in this morning and I see that the dandelions in the lawn have reached epic heights. Will be clear felling this afternoon.

Hope you have a good ride and 10 points for motivation.

    Cheers

Hi - I'm heading over to Hinakura (beyond Martinborough) and on through Admiral Road to the Gladstone for a refreshing beverage.

Leaving Motomart Lower Hutt 9.30am Sunday 16 February 2014

Have advised members of BMWOR of this also.

All are welcome - as a bonus I plan to do the paper road linking Northcroft to Dorsets Road in the afternoon - large bike friendly farm track provided there's no rain - E07 or more knobbly recommended

Would be great to see some of you there. If coming from other than Wellington we can meet you in Martinborough near the loos at 10.30ish

I may pop over to see the ride end if it doesnt rain, but won't be riding it this time unfortunately. It was either the ride down South or the Pukemanu - the Treasurer suggested I wasn't allowed to do both...:brow
