Popalobster sez (over in the 3hr ice race thread):

"Uh oh. Ain't lookin good. I just talked with Al Sumner. the homeowners association is currently meeting to discuss the race. With the cold and the wind it may get called off. Not only the cold, but fighting to kkeep a track cleaned in 40 mph wind is darn near impossible. I'll post up with a definitve answer before the days out."

If the race doesn't go, neither does the meet and greet. If so, I will schedule something else soon.

About two minutes ago I got a call from the Buckhorn. They told me the race is off due to conditions but that they would reschedule to a new date (no yet set).

Meet and greet is off for this event.

Good thing I didn't mix up the bloody marys yet. Next time.

I had enuff of this crappy weather riding home from Chi yesterday. Driver did a donut for the first time, in the middle of the interstate in Janesville! Glare ice and strong crosswinds. Took 2 hours to get from the state line to Madison. Was very glad to get home.

I was on hwy 59 and hwy N this morning and it was like a ice rink and the winds were howling. When my wife opened up her car door, she thought it was going to come off of the frame. Good thing the races and and the meet and greet was called off. Driving was very sketchy, including Charley Bluff road. Not a good situation...

Whats up with I 90 this last week???

2000 cars stuck in the snow on monday and now its unpassable again?!?!?

I took 94 to Rosemont for the Bike show on sunday and it was clean and 80mph the whole way...

I hope no ADVers got stuck on 90... it did look kinda cool when people on snowmobiles were bringing stuck people coffee and such

It's the Janesville and Beloit drivers, don't have the brains to slow down :lol3

From what I have heard a couple of the hills combined with the on/off ramps, counties running out of salt have made from mile markers 160 to 140 kinda slick.

FYI: Looks like the Steel Shoe ice race will be run on Feb. 24, 2008. :clap
It will be on Fox Lake (WI), NOT on Lake Koshkonong.
It will trimmed to a 2-hour race, NOT a 3-hour.
Host bar is the Boat House, Fox Lake, WI.
$50 entry will still go to the Steel Shoe Fund.
If you pre-paid for the cancelled race, see below:

Per Joe Stoppelworth, from the Wismoto.com site:
Ok this is what we have deceided:::
After a long debate and because of some promotion changes we will not call it "The 3 hour".
We are going to have a 2 hour race with a $50.oo entry. All the other rules of the 3 hour will apply. Al and Judy will be there so if you pre-entered for the 3 hour they will have your checks and money so you can get a refund if you would like or apply it to his event. This is going to be a substitute for the 3 hour until next year. There will be Trophies and door prizes and Lots of Fun.
Sign up will be from 8 am to 11 am, Practice 10:30 to 11.30 and race will begin at 12:eek:o NOON.
Everything made will go to the STEELSHOE FUND.
Thanks for all your support spread the word and see ya at the races.

    Sunday, 9 Mar 08, 1400 hours (2:00PM - 1st day of DST)

    Delafield Brewhaus

"It is true that at any given time you will find between 7 and 9 brews on tap here at the Brewhaus. Our selection changes roughly every two weeks but it really all depends on what our brewmaster is up to. He always has some interesting creation brewing away that only he knows about. However, we always have our Dock Light, Delafield Amber, Pewaukee Porter and Sommerzeit Hefe Weizen on tap. These are time tested recipes that represent a broad spectrum of taste, giving our customers a flavor that they can count on time after time. If you are one that likes to experiment, we always have something new and off the beaten path for you to try as well."

Come and meet some other riders. Talk about upcoming rides and events and maybe get a few things put together. Have a beer. Enjoy a sandwich. SO/families welcome.

I'm also a maybe! I'd certainly like to meet some of you FFs!

But I got family in town that weekend, though I could potentially "break free".. :D

what are the odds the snow will be gone by then? The Tiger needs to stretch its legs.
