I purchased this 1989 R100GS tonight. She's cosmetically a little gnarly, but only has 15k miles on her and is mechanically sound. The seller even had every receipt going back to date of purchase in 1989. The still-primered metal PD tank is dented, but I plan to fix that as well as her other shortcomings in the coming few months. I can't even begin to say how stoked I am!
That is beautiful, one of the best years. It will outlast both of us. I gotta know Bob...how much was that Price is Right Showcase Showdown?
Why am I finding this bike appealing? I've stubbornly ridden my RS like a GS for twenty years, yet here's this machine that's caught my eye. Hmmmmm, interesting. Well done kaltblitz.
It came with a Corbin custom made for that tank as well as the stock bumble bee seat. Runs good! Just needs a new driveshaft boot, tank paint and a good cleanup.
