Bah. 6'4 is barely out of 'average', right? My sister is 6'4. :)

Well... it's been a bit of a saga of back ordered parts, and diagnosis, and troubleshooting, but the Mutley is coming back tomorrow, I hope.

At the minimum, both heads and the radiator replaced after the coolant incident.

Anyone here have the dreaded shift lever return spring failure? Any symptoms before it crapped out?

5'10" is the average in the US, 5'7" is the world-wide average. So he's a bit more than "barely out of average".

Actually, based on those averages, only 0.6% of men in the US are taller than him, and 98.88% of the people in the world are shorter than him. :)

And while I'm sure your sister is a lovely woman, she's a statistical freak. :)

I believe you have to replace the pins that go thru the back of the front seat.
The 2010-11 part you would be replacing is 821.1.340.1A. The part you will replace it with is the 2012 equivalent which is part 821.1.390.1A. I've not done the mod as I'm all of 5'6" and the seat on the 2011 fits me quite well. If anybody has, please speak up, especially if I am misspeaking. I hope this helps.

DP engine guards have a new part number for 2013. They haven't been released yet(this week). My dealer says that he has a set that will fit my 2013. Does anyone know what they changed?

Edit: To clarify, the guards that my dealer has are not the new version but he says they will fit my 2013 according to his information. He just doesn't know what they changed.

Question: How are the handlebars on the multistrada 1200 vibration damped?

Rubber mounts? Top Clamp construction? Heavy bar weights? the construction of the bar itself, or some other method?

On my '10, they aren't, and don't really need to be. I did end up with bar end weights on mine, but only because I installed a Throttlemeister that adds a fair amount of weight on both sides.
