I haven't done a ton of aerobatics, but what I've done has been with a 3000 AGL floor. I always thought the odds getting out if things went sideways were pretty slim.

If you're interested, do some googling on ejections. I had no idea how many pilots died trying to save their aircraft and missing the ejection window. Three seconds can make all the difference.

I saw that from the terminal as I flew through last week. I'll be looking for it again tomorrow on my way home.

I found this pic to use in a different post (the SR-71 thread). It is too good not to post here too.

I was amazed at how small that plans is when I saw it at Wright-Patt. Thought it would be much bigger.

I see a diferent radome/nose option, what are the little black things in front of it?

The big silver "thing" is a auxiliary fuel tank but are any of the others nukes?

I am not sure if this has already been posted and if it seems a little obvious but I haven't seen a photo of what many people this side of the pond regard as possibly the best looking and certainly most evocative aircraft of all time, the Supermarine Spitfire, the sound of a Merlin engine is also pretty good.

Haaa...the SOUND...never heard a Spitfire but I was on foot on the taxiway at the Hamilton airport near the end of the runway when the museum's Hurricane flew it's first sortie following the rebuild - only there by chance on a week day, a non advertised test flight -
Wow...I still get shivers from that moment years ago. I was immediatly brought back to an earlier era and figured i was born way too late.
