Quick last weekend in Feb 2010 trip with my son.

    Leaving Baton Rouge on a WR250R and a F650GS:

Near St. Francisville we took some of the backroads to Woodsville (from 61 to 966 to 10 to Jones Vaughn Creek Road to Morris Road to Walker Road to 957). Tons of backroads with little traffic. This one is on Walker Road:

At Woodsville we hooked up to 61 and then took 563 towards Homochito National Forest. This one is somewhere along 563, stopping for fleece:

Then to 33 to Liberty Road to Cranfield Rd. This one is at the north end of Cranfield for a pit stop:

    Camping, anyone?

    Natchez State Park Lake:

    Finally a semi-decent camping spot:

    Morning:

Playing around Natchez Trace; these are off Emerald Mound-McGehee Road:

    Cemetery Road north of Natchez:

The bluffs north of Natchez. The Mississippi in the background:

Big Mama's Tamales in Natchez. Pretty good, actually, for Mexican food in Mississippi:

Testing the range of the Safari gas tank for the WR...ran out of gas on the way back to Baton Rouge...if you could use the last 1/2 gallon on the Safari would be nice....what, you can't use that last 1/2 gallon at highway speeds? WT?

Conclusion, backroads of Louisiana and Mississippi are great for gentle riding. Only negative? They are used by the locals as one big trash can. I don't get it.

    Great report! Thank you.

Part of the country that I haven't seen yet. Very beautiful (without the trash).

Thanks for the report on the Natches area. Loved that old graveyard. I must of spent about an hour walking about that place. One of my enjoyable Breaking in the Bandit rides. Found out it was better in gravel than either my DL1000 or GS1250GS. Go figure.
