Looking for nice sounding, loud muffler suggestions...

Anyone have any recommendations for relatively inexpensive, loud, good sounding exhaust cans? Looking for standard length rather than shortys. thanks

Go to JC Whitney's site and grab the Dunstall replicas by EMGO for your bike. Cheap and they sound good. I'll likely be putting some on my R100 until I can afford an Epco setup, which are very nice but spendy.

I know some guys who have them and they sound great. Deep rumbles from airheads.

Nothing performs and sounds as good as a set of Hoske mufflers from Siebenrock.

While I agree they sound fantastic they aren't exactly inexpensive.

I've got a cheap set of Emgo "Classic Standard Muffler" (80-75140) for HD's. My father-in-law added them when it was his bike. He did have to cut/modify the header pipes slightly to get them to fit horizontally. They have a nice sound at idle but I think they're too loud while cruising. I set off car alarms in my company's parking garage as I ride by.

Here is a quick video I took last year that gives a pretty good indication of their sound. The video seems to muffle the sound a bit. They've got a good bark to them.

i got baffleless shorty megaphones(that i lengthened), holy shit it's loud:eek1

sounds great and i love loud engines but it's maybe a teeny bit too loud, makes me love it more now

mine were a nightmare to get on round the brake pedal and i wouldn't recommend them to anybody without rearsets, it was hard to find anything except shortys that was cheap

If you look in the Airhead flea market, you'll note that I have a set of 38mm Hoskes listed.

Theyre really nice, almost new and I'll let them go at a steep discount over buying a new set.

I had them on my RS until I sold it and they looked good and sounded great!

If you come out here to the Pacific Coast and venture to within 200yds of the Ocean, lots of trees look like that.

You just have to escape the Matrix and then everything looks different!

Specialize in fabricator components. Bolt on mufflers are all universal fitment, in most cases a bracket is recommended to make the mufflers permanent, As far as headers, tubing and bends in various diameters are offered for custom fabrication. You can also buy all the components to fabricate your own custom mufflers.

Define inexpensive.
Staintune mufflers cost OZ$1200 a pair.
Keihen, in SS, are very similar, and cost half that. For noise, Keihen make a set designed by the UK BMW tuner, Jim Cray. They're good....reminiscent of the sound from a BSA Goldstar I'm told.

They look flash and not to expensive either! How do they mount? I'd wager they're LOUD!

These are really decent pipes- keep in mind you'll need to have them expanded from 36mm to 38mm to fit over the headers. It took me awhile to track down an exhaust shop that had an adapter small enough to do that. nice and loud.

Take a look farther down the page. The "big bore" ones are for 1 1/2" headers which works out to 38.1mm
