I live pretty close to you in Gastonia and have a Daughter and son-in-law in the Clover "sticks" area near McGill's..... I recognized some of the places you have been..... Nice pics!

Don't be surprised. I can travel down most roads in WV and when you cross the line into VA, they generally turn to crap. For one of the poorest states in the country, it definitely has good roads.

I didn't make it down to the Texas hill country this year, had too much other stuff fall on the same week. Then as a consolation I had hopes of joining GlennR on a trail ride scouting run but I wasn't able to get the old DR ready in time due to thunderstorms.

What did get done is the Strom is wearing some new shoes.

Out scrubbing them in on back roads near Lake Lure.....


















It appears the dial got bumped into fisheye mode.

Decided to take a break in Asheville's 'River Arts District'


































Ran into BDXMPL and Cuttle at the Wedge......and ended up crashing on their couch with one of their dogs.

I didn't get any pics but we did some more RDV scouting....this time it was testing breakfast recipes. Several more joined us for that including kennyanc, _anatic, HalcyonDaze..and they each had a sweetie with them too...I had the dogs and cats.

Then we rode up to Black Bear to do some final figuring etc.....traffic jam.

Keep up the good work. Your photography is very inspiring.

I have been catching back up on this thread to get myself pumped up for my next trip. I am heading up that way May 13th through the 15th in search of random back roads in WNC. Probably going to hit NC 215 and NC 281 and whatever other "wonder where this goes" roads I can find. Of course the cross county ride from Savannah to the mountains is nice too.

So, how many more miles are you planning to get out of the Wee? Do you have any thoughts on picking up your next sled?
